I’m looking for a bag for spring summer. Something I can pop over my shoulder and that will match everything I don’t want to be switching bags every 5 minutes

Work in special needs so most of the time I’m in jeans/top/converse (shorts if hot)during the week but ideally needs to go with little summer dress/denim jacket etc guess I’m looking for smart/casual. I'm a pretty plain dresser think plain white, navy, black etc

My summer jackets are mainly denim jacket or Khaki jacket

Max spend is £30-40 as really can’t afford more at moment

would one like this suit? It comes in multiple colours x

GreenTulips · 01/05/2020 10:30

Have a look at Florelli online

Love these bag designs

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 01/05/2020 10:43

@sleepismysuperpower1 oooh those are gorgeous!

sleepismysuperpower1 · 01/05/2020 10:47

@GiveMyHeadPeaceffs I know, and I love the purse that is attached too Grin

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 01/05/2020 11:50

@sleepismysuperpower1 have you bought one? I'm very tempted, all the colours are fab.

Terralee · 01/05/2020 11:52

I find River Island good for bags that price range

sleepismysuperpower1 · 01/05/2020 11:53

Not yet, am hoping for one for my birthday. SIL has one and it's lovely x

user246854 · 01/05/2020 15:16

Sleepismysuperpower1 that's nice only thing I'm worried about is the quality will it look like I've tried to make it myself, the hobo slouch style is what I think I'm after.

I just find the river island either I bit to dressy or just s little to much as they are usually quite detailed

Fairly sure no-one will think you've made it yourself - working in suede? Are you mad?

I'm less happy about the single-point closure, myself. You'd need to ensure it was never swung sideways.

LuxuryWoman2020 · 01/05/2020 16:01

TK Maxx is back again online, normally have decent offerings

Sgtmajormummy · 01/05/2020 16:13

Baroque taupe

I am addicted to Reisenthel bags because they have so many models in the same fabric.
This is a versatile design, but hey what do I know?

user246854 · 01/05/2020 16:14

Crocuspocus on that's nice not sure why I didn't look as ASOS I will check them out

Suede isn’t practical for day-to-day wear unless you’re happy for it to look less than pristine pretty much right away. It’s also not durable in rain.

With your budget I think I would look on eBay for a leather crossbody bag from any of the mid-to-high range high street retailers. If you ensure that it’s from a pet free, smoke free home you can get some really good bargains for great quality handbags that will last you years and years.

I love Katie Loxton bags for daily use Smileworth a little look on their site!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 01/05/2020 16:28

I have this here

slinkysaluki · 01/05/2020 21:46

Tan would look nice with khaki

Ninkanink · 01/05/2020 21:53

Yes tan looks great with khaki. So does black, and burgundy.

mlr1uk · 02/05/2020 07:31

I love the jacket - where is it from?

HostessTrolley · 02/05/2020 08:59

I keep looking at the star bags at lovely-eira.co.uk - they come in multiple colours and sizes

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 30/05/2020 09:05

@sleepismysuperpower1 I bought one! Really like it, great size and good quality but my only downside with it is that it's not lined but I still love it...am now eyeing up the green one Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/05/2020 09:13

I buy Kipling bags ( partly because I don't wear leather/suede) though some of the 'Premium Range has leather on the handles so I do need to double check)
They come in loads of colours. Pockets, keyfob

Look on eBay -loads of new/used.
I put mine in the washing machine inside a laundry bag .

They are not popular on Handbag threads but you need one that suits your needs and lifestyle .
Not sure how much £40 will get you but there are bargains out there
Though I've never seen a nice one in TKMaxx
I always buy from QVC

MushroomTree · 30/05/2020 11:43

Jumping on because I'm also looking for the holy grail of everyday bags. I wondered about a leather/leather look silver slouchy shopper type thing. My thinking is that silver would go with most colours.
