New Look jeans sizing

I’m thinking of buying some New Look jeans and was wondering if anyone who has bought any recently can tell me if they come up big or small? Or is the sizing so hit and miss that there is no answer?
Thanks! I’m usually between 2 sizes in many places, but don’t want to order 2 sizes if I can avoid it due to returns being a hassle at the moment, as I don’t live near a drop-off location and hardly think it would count as an essential journey...

I bought some the other day from new look and I'm usually a 16 across the board so got 16 and I definitely could have done with a 14, I've currently got them in the wash to try and shrink them!

Bare in mind though they were the stretchy high waisted ones

I'm a size 14-16, more often a 16.
For New look I comfortably fit in a size 14 and have a few pairs from there. I would recommend the 'Hallie' type. I find they have a good stretch to the fabric too.. hope you get it right OP!

Thanks for your quick replies and advice! I think I will go for the smaller size cos I always get frustrated that jeans seem to ‘grow’. Fingers crossed...
