I need help with my crepey neck!

I’m 47 and my face is holding up pretty well! But all of a sudden the skin in my ne k has turned crepey. That’s the only way I can describe it really and it’s spreading to my cleavage!! I am using prai night cream and day cream and then a moisturiser with spf25 over the top during the day, but it’s not improving! I had a heat rash on my neck a few weeks ago and that seems to have made it worse!

Is there anything I can do to improve the skin or to slow it getting worse?? I’ve done some online research but am finding it all a bit baffling! Grin

Watching with interest...my neck seems to be loosening!

Flythedragons · 29/04/2020 22:38

Same here! Definitely loosening!

Me too, it's like a turkey neck! Getting jowls too just like my mother - guess it's genetic but anything that could help is worth a try

Yes some help desperately needed here!
Is Prai neck cream helpful?

XingMing · 30/04/2020 11:15

@MrsDrudge, if you want to try it, I bought tiny sizes from M&S, and it brings me up in a rash. I could post it if you want....

MrsDrudge · 30/04/2020 11:21

@xingming thank you! How kind of you to offer - I might treat myself to something a bit cheering during these depressing restrictions. Be great to emerge from lockdown with a swanlike neck but I won’t expect too much.
Thanks again for your offer though.

ultherapy is supposed to be v good for this and jowls
My neck is like a teenagers but I am definitely starting to get jowls so have been looking into it. They say better to get sooner rather than later as the results are better
V painful and expensive too it seems

LizzieSiddal · 30/04/2020 11:37

I’m 54 and have tried so many things and spent a fortune on the usual specific “neck” creams, they have made not a jot of difference.
I now use moisturisers meant for those with sensitive/very dry skin, like Epaderm, it’s cheap as chips and definitely makes my skin look less creepy.

blue25 · 30/04/2020 11:46

I’ve been using the Sanctuary supercharged hyaluronic face and neck cream and it is gradually making a difference. Not too expensive either.

Flythedragons · 30/04/2020 14:03

Thank you! I actually have some Epaderm as my son gets very dry skin. I have slathered some on. Looking at it my skin on my neck does look dry. I will try the Sanctuary product when I can get some.

Sellotape at the sides pull it back so you disguise it. Mine is getting really noticeable. I think I read somewhere that hair gel smooths it temporarily.

Well it's called getting older and, sadly, apart from surgery there is little you can do that will make much difference. I'm 57 and had a modified one stitch facelift 2 years ago before my daughter's wedding. It did wonders for my jawline and neck. I was about to book a consultation for a brow lift when lock-down happened but hope to when things get back to normal.

achillesratty · 30/04/2020 14:23

I've got a facial toner. It's just a basic Rio 60 second one but it does help and I can see the difference when I stop, I use it on my jowls too. I use Prai and it's about the best I've tried but it's not a miracle cream. I was looking into thread lifts too before the lockdown.

Cheeryandmerry · 30/04/2020 14:34

Interesting. My face is pretty good but my neck has suddenly gone ping in the last year or so (early 50s). I’ve lost a bit of weight which I think has tipped the balance actually. It’s ok in real life but oh my goodness zoom calls are not kind!

Oldraver · 30/04/2020 14:46

I dont have wrinkles on my face but my neck makes up for it.

It looks like when a baloon has deflated and is all crinkled.

Dont have a friggin clue what to do with it, not really bothered at the mo

I have this problem and have tried loads of different products most of which don't do anything but moisturise. I started using Temple Spa Exalt cream about 6 months ago and felt my neck looked smoother. I then ran out and it definitely got crepier. Back using it now for about a week and the turkey neck has improved. It's pricey but I would rather pay a bit more and get something that works.
