Are all those pop up window clothes companies dodgy ?

Looking at the little linen praire dresses, culottes and cute shirts that pop up on feeds. Some of the clothes are absolutely lovely, but from what I have read, the parcel is never like the picture.
Anyone had any luck ?

On Facebook go to their page and look for the page transparency button, if you click there it will tell you where the page is based - usually China. Check out the website too.
If there are a lot of deleted comments under the adverts that speaks volumes.

This for example : I can see that this has been photoshopped and doubt it would look anything remotely similar on arrival. What I am looking for is the place I can buy the original. This is clearly a dodgy site as I have seen the same product on several differet named websites

I traced a couple of pictures back to garden centres, the type that have craft concessions selling handmade things. You could try pinterest for similar items being careful they're genuine.
My guess is they nick pictures then run up cheap similar items.
If they photoshop I guess you can't do a Google search for the original

I haven't seen that, but a thread yesterday recommended a Polish manufacturer for similar linen clothes. They sell direct, in stores and on Etsy (good reviews there).
Called Seasidetones.com

I get lots of these, always lovely clothes but dodgy sites. I’d love to find non dodgy sites that sell these types of clothes.

I love the look of these items but have bought a couple and been very disappointed. Badly made, cheap material and difficult and expensive to return. I wouldn't bother. better to look on Etsy for similar styles.

Is this the stuff that's been turning up in the sidebar? I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, looks like MN are taking revenue from wherever they can get it.

There are SO many nice looking clothes that pop up on my FB. I never see things like them in the shops.
Sadly I think they are too good to be true.

There is one for a linen polka dot dress with short sleeves and pockets. I would love to find a version of that dress from a reputable site.

Lots of people asking in the comments if anyone has one and what it’s like but it’s always the company who answers. When people ask where they ship from they say they have factories in the UK and USA Hmm.

I’d love to know if it’s a copy where from and if not a fashion company needs to make a copy of that dress!

I've looked at these too, lots that I like the look of, but can't see anything similar in regular online shops.

Just thought I'd give this thread a boost.

I swear after posting this I have been absolutely inindated with more and more fake sites. They are everywhere and under so many different names.

Well if any mumsnetters want to start a business selling these designs but well made I’d definitely buy them. 😀

Pannacottaformeplease · 04/05/2020 15:38

I got a lovely dress from one but it took about a month to arrive! I also got a dress from another that was nothing like I hoped so mixed experience so far but you’re all right - the Facebook photos are so tempting! I hear Silk Fred are v good ( according to friend who buys their stuff).
