Snag tights are in danger of going under. They were recommended here and I love them. Their market has tanked as no one is wearing tights indoors..... I’ve bought a couple of pairs and two 241 vouchers to be be redeemed in November. I’d be sad if they went and I had to go back to Nora batty tights.

Fat lass tights! I wouldn't be without them.

InglouriousBasterd · 28/04/2020 22:42

God I love snag. All other rights roll or don’t go all the way up my legs. Ordered more for winter now and a voucher, I’d hate them to go under.

Hairydogmummy · 28/04/2020 23:36

I got the email and I do feel for them, I love to support a British start up. I have a couple of pairs but my SD disappeared with one and I didn't wear the one pair I had left more than a couple of times before it got too warm for tights. I do wonder how secure the business is anyway cos surely people wouldn't be buying tights in late March or April anyway corona or not?

Voice0fReason · 28/04/2020 23:59

I love Snag Tights so much.
I ordered some more about a week ago but I'll go and get a few vouchers as well. It would be a real shame to lose a company like that, though it looks like the response they have had to this offer has helped steady things for them.

Donutinthesky · 29/04/2020 06:03

Being an online business i would have thought working from home is easy and that they would have enough stock to see them through the summer period where sales of tights, i imagine, is low anyway. And with regards to their factory, lockdown may ease end of summer and many online retailers are still churning clothes still so im not sure. Maybe they were struggling anyway. I cant imagine their business having many staff to furlough and factory staff are probably sub contracted with no legal obligations on snag.. there are always loopholes around stuff like that.

The statement from facebook is nice but im not convinced. I think buy your voucher if you don't mind not seeing your money back.

I thought the email was very beggy.

StarlightLady · 29/04/2020 07:26

Far be it from me to try and dissuade anyone from their brand loyalty, but in the event of problems getting Snag, Heist Tights are also very good.

Given comments in this thread, l would urge caution with vouchers. You are safer with a credit card.

RebelWhoWashesFor19Seconds · 29/04/2020 07:43

They're al right and are larger than most other tights but nothing to really write home about. I needed just a bog standard pair of natural shade tights to fit my oversized legs and bum. No such luck. Only thing I could buy was some gaudy coloured tights that would look horrendous for the wedding I was attending or a pair of "builders tea" colour. So pale they looked stupid.

I might give them another chance if they restock natural shades. We'll see.

DollysDrawers · 29/04/2020 07:44

I thought the email was very beggy.

Maybe it was a bit @Donutinthesky, but I have no issue with that in the current climate. Young businesses will suffer more than many at the moment and they're probably feeling a bit 'beggy'. I don't think that matters at all tbh.

DollysDrawers · 29/04/2020 07:51

@RebelWhoWashesFor19Seconds bog standard natural colours aren't really their thing, they certainly go for more bold colours at Snag. You'd probably be better with Heist for more natural shades, they're also good quality, if much more expensive.

RebelWhoWashesFor19Seconds · 29/04/2020 07:53

As someone has pointed out here, as an online only business, covid shouldn't be that much of an issue anyway? At least not yet. Stock should be enough to last them through a while, particularly on the summer downturn when tights sales would naturally go down. I'd be concerned that any vouchers bought now would be of no use in November as the business may not be there. Perhaps they have been struggling before now.

HailGail · 29/04/2020 08:09

I think it's the Laura Ashley exit. It makes it seem better for the business owner to blame covid on Snag's closure.
The voucher for tights in November sound very much sounds like a request for a charity donation to delay the inevitable.

The language of the Facebook statement is very carefully worded in that it does not impose any legal liability on Snag to fulfil the voucher. The language is all, well we will try and it would be nice wishy washy sort.

sonjadog · 29/04/2020 08:55

I ordered three pairs of black tights this morning. So they should see me through next winter at least.

RubbishQueen · 29/04/2020 16:36

I just brought a couple of vouchers. I can afford it at the moment and will need tights in November. I am trying to buy stuff from smaller businesses to hopefully keep them afloat.

ArseholesOnToast · 26/05/2020 14:06

I ordered a couple of sos vouchers on 28 April which said they’ll email to me. Still not received, has anyone else had theirs?

I also ordered some actual tights and they arrived.

Trebolla · 26/05/2020 16:56

I've had mine but they took about three weeks to be emailed.

copperoliver · 26/05/2020 18:03

I brought some too. They are my favourite apparently we've saved them. X
