Breast implants worry please help!

Hi,

I had breast implants 4 years ago but I have recently read online that the implants that I received were recalled last year due to a potential link to lymphoma. I am certain worried about this and currently pregnant so emotions are obviously higher at the minute. Is anybody else in the same position and if so what are have you done/doing about it?

I keep imagining my poor DD without me because and it's becoming overwhelming.

Any advise would be so helpful

Thanks

@Chesneyhawkes1

Yes, I think I am going to leave mine too. I can't believe I was stupid enough to get them in the first place! Haha no offence obviously 😅

Chesneyhawkes1 · 29/07/2020 19:04

@Sarahb1991 none taken 😂😂 I thought that when I had to have them replaced. Why did I start this 😂 but I wasn't ready to say goodbye to having boobs!

Have any of you managed to breastfeed with the implants? This is what I initially wanted to find out before I found out I am a potential walking cancer risk 😩

@Sarahb1991 as far as I know it is perfectly possible to breastfeed with implants. I think it's more difficult if you've had the nipples taken off and put back on like they do if you have a lift. There's a group I'm on with lots of women who are pregnant after having work done. I'll ask there for you

@chubbyhotchoc

That would be great! Thank you!

3 responses saying they fully breastfed no problems. One said she couldn't but her milk ducts had been severed during surgery. You could possibly ask for your notes to see what they did during the surgery.

@chubbyhotchoc

Thank you for that 😊

I think sometimes they can put them in through the nipple.

Keep me updated with what you decide with your implants 😊 good luck with your pregnancy, how many weeks are you? X

chubbyhotchoc · 29/07/2020 21:29

@Sarahb1991 had lots more saying they bf successfully now.
I'm 22 weeks. You? I'll let you know. I think I'm definitely going to look into having them changed. I have really bad anxiety as it is so I'm not sure how I'm going to cope going forward even if I get the all clear at the breast clinic with this lump.

Sarahb1991 · 29/07/2020 22:08

@chubbyhotchoc

I am 36 weeks. Please don't worry too much about the lump I'm sure it will be fine 😊 I suffer with anxiety too and when I found out about this I worried about it so much for weeks. Try not to let it ruin your pregnancy and if your still worried about it when you have had the baby then you can always have them replaced. I said I will see how I feel 6 months after having the baby. I tried to put it into perspective by realising that everything we do in life has some sort of risk. Pregnancy hormones will also be fueling the way that you feel towards it xx

I'll try!

This is an interesting read
