Just where are these beautifully cut natural fabric clothes?

I'm using lockdown as a chance to overhaul my style and wardrobe and have been following the 'how to look expensive threads.

They all talk about buying well cut and tailored clothes in natural fabrics.

That's all well and good, but where do you buy those? Especially online and if your lifestyle doesn't usually demand being dressy?

I am handy with a sewing machine and can alter clothes (but wouldn't attempt tailoring), so any suggestions for buying lovely fabrics to make my own would also be great.

Thank you Smile

Have been looking at a top on Lands End website after suggestion above. Composition is 60% cotton 40% modal. I’ve seen it’s semi natural. Can anyone say what it’s like to wear please.

SirVixofVixHall · 02/05/2020 13:48

I don’t have anything in Modal, but Land’s End clothes are usually good quality and well made. Plus their customer service is excellent.

SpeedofaSloth · 02/05/2020 14:21

I think modal is really comfy, like soft cotton. Tencel is also very nice.

Thanks

I have lots of Lands End, so does Dh. Usually the Cotton tees and long sleeve tee and Jeans. I just got more jeans and long sleeve tees in the 70% off sale. So comfy.
Their supima cotton tees are super comfy. they do linen blend too.

@thehollyandtheirony the dress has finally arrived (Dutch post fucked up, nothing to do with the shop). The quality of fabric is fantastic, the colour is rich and the dress seems to be well made.

What’s the seasidetones sizing like? There are some lovely dresses... so much for saving money

lonelySam · 14/05/2020 13:21

I am size 12 and got an 'M' which is too small. Should have gone for 'L' at least in the kimono dress.

Ihavenoidewhatsgoingon · 14/05/2020 15:21

@lonelySam. Thanks

Thehollyandtheirony · 29/05/2020 08:47

Thanks for the update @lonelySam. It sounds lovely. Shame about the sizing, I hope you can get the correct size without waiting too long.

LadyEloise · 29/05/2020 12:01

Alyson Walsh thatsnotmyage.com/style-inspiration/sustainable-style-the-brands-that-dont-cost-the-earth/ has a column in the Saturday Telegraph. Her style is sort of middle-aged but not frumpy.
@Ninkanink
Reiss unfortunately use a lot of polyester these days. Things which in the past would have been silk are now polyester although the price doesn’t reflect this. A lot of their “silk” tops are only silk at the front and are viscose at the back. It’s really annoying.
I had been going to say precisely this!

Most of my silk shirts are from eBay.
