Have had a burning desire

...to put my long hair in a pony tail and cut the bloody thing off.

All day, I’ve been fantasising about it. I have bra strap length hair. Last year, had highlights at a new salon and every since, it’s been a swine to get a comb through. I feel like I’m wearing a straw wig.

Trouble is, I’m not at my best physically at the moment. My head might look like a pea on a drum. Any suggestions? I’m so pissed off with it. I grew it out from a pixie, years ago and it was shiny and healthy. It’s now a fucking mess.

Get a decent conditioner , show it some love
As once you cut it you may regret it

MrsGrindah · 25/04/2020 20:57

Decent conditioners don’t work though. They just coat the hair but don’t heal it.

OP I feel your pain... answer it address the inside issues ie nutrients and water and fats and the outside issues - heat, over styling, colouring etc.

MrsGrindah · 25/04/2020 21:00

Is not it

TheLadyAnneNeville · 25/04/2020 21:46

@MrsGrindah... thing is, the salon gave me some products (Redken) because they could see a week later, that my hair was a mess. Since finishing them, I’ve been using Olaplex (my niece gets it for me she’s a beautician). It is better but it looks like straw. I haven’t been back to the salon.

I don’t style it. I let it dry naturally because though it’s straight and fine, there’s loads of it.

I found that it took several applications before I saw results with Olaplex.

Do you (or more accurately, before lock down did you) swim a lot? My DD's hair was like this and it was actually due to chlorine build up. Some really good scrubs with chlorine shampoo really helped. She now uses the chlorine shampoo once a week and hair back to being smooth and shiny.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 26/04/2020 22:33

No, not a swimmer. Don’t do sun either!

Will keep on with the Olaplex. Used some coconut oil on it today from mid length, down. I’m cross about it because my hair was probably the best thing about me 🙄
