If you are good at doing your make up...

I'm in a bit of a rut with my make up.

I have very basic skills. I can apply foundation, concealer, mascara and lipstick/balm but I'm crap at anything else.

I can't do eyebrows, eye shadow, eye liner, contouring, "baking" foundation etc.

Can anyone recommend any good YouTube tutorials, products etc?

I have oily skin and use either Estée Lauder DW foundation, various MAC ones or the Rimmel 24 hour one with the red top and they all work well for me.

I can't make my day to evening look that different, I'm certainly no "catfish".

I've been watching some TikTok videos (I know, I know - but I'm bored) and there's these ones where they show themselves before and after make up and they look completely different, just how do they do it?!

Have a look at Lisa Eldridge, Wayne goss, Charlotte tilbury, Sam and Nic Chapman.

I don't think that there is any need to bake foundation.

Are they YouTubers?

I haven't tried Charlotte Tilbury make up but have heard it's good.

Instagram - Katie Jane hughes, has a lot of tutorials in highlights

Youtube - Robert Welsh (he hates baking and has a video on why!). Find him very informative

eyebrows

Use a thin brush and draw to fill in your natural shape with a pale beige or to be bolder a brown shade.

eye shadow,

Put a darker colour in the crease and a lighter colour on the lid. Never use shimmer in the crease. Only ever shimmer on the lid. And maybe the brow bone if going out. Shimmer is v aging.

eye liner,

Use a thin brush. Press black or dark brown eyeshadow into the lash line. Go heavier on the outside 3rd of the eye. Skip the bottom lash line as v aging. Unless going out, then do the outer 3rd only.

Try Caroline Barnes on Instagram. She does lovely speed beauty tutorials. Hers is pretty much the only voice I can stand. I have learned a lot from her.
