Hush

Impulsively ordered this sweatshirt
Please tell me hush is fabulous as it was extortionate ( to me )
So I can stop fretting that it won’t be worth the money

Well, all I wear is Hush - almost without exception! Quality is hit and miss sometimes. Sizing runs large. I've got loads of sweatshirts and t shirts and my grumble about the t shirts is the sleeves are too short. It's also all a bit overpriced

Having said that though, it's all I wear so I must like it GrinI just like the ease of it all, how it all goes together (when you've got enough of it) and it does last well for me

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 25/04/2020 14:18

oooh I want that sweatshirt now.

I wear pretty much all hush as well-generally worth it.

Send bits back but keep much more than I return so i think worth it!!

Pajamagirl · 25/04/2020 14:35

Thanks , looking forward to
My delivery now Smile
My treat to myself

I've never understood the love on here for Hush. The quality in general is pretty rubbish.

Pajamagirl · 25/04/2020 16:04

@zaraW
Oh no that’s not good reading !
I will see what it is like when it comes and if it’s poor then as part of my daily walk I will go to PO and rerun it
And it’s looks so snuggly as well 🤫

Bloggers love Hush not surprisingly as they get free clothes and earn commission on purchases if readers click on their links.

Lily193 · 25/04/2020 19:40

I think Hush is absolutely awful both in terms of style and quality.

VivLevy · 25/04/2020 19:42

Poor quality
Nice designs
Huge sizing
Lots of man made fabrics
Very over priced
I do buy from them occasionally as there is such a limited choice of clothing for women over 50....

fantasmasgoria1 · 25/04/2020 19:54

I'm honestly not being horrible or anything but I have looked through the hush site because if what people have said here. I think it's mostly boring stuff if not frumpy in some cases!

mynamesmrdiggety · 25/04/2020 20:19

I haven't found the quality great, lovely t shirt with stars on which have come off in the wash. I also have the star jeans which I got for a tenner in the sale and I don't think I would have wanted to pay more to be honest

stringbean · 25/04/2020 20:43

I love how it all looks in the pictures but the reality is so often different. The knitwear I've had in the past (I refuse to buy it now) is awful: bobbles really badly and looks so tatty it's relegated to wearing only in the house. I have a couple of t shirts from Hush which I like - although I only handwash them and wouldn't risk them in the washing machine - and I love the denim shorts I have from there, but in general I think it's VERY over-priced for the quality.

VetOnCall · 26/04/2020 01:20

I bought a few things a couple of years ago as I liked a lot of the designs featuring stars, but I found the quality poor and the sizing bizarre. I'm a size 8 but even their xs was far too big in most of the items I ordered. I read back through the reviews and they're full of people commenting that they're a 12-14 and have to order size small. The couple of items I kept - one star biker sweatshirt and a star-design knitted jumper - both washed really badly and I ended up throwing both into the clothes recycling bin after a few washes. I wouldn't touch it again, it was hugely overpriced for such odd sizing and poor quality.

Elllllle · 26/04/2020 04:02

Definitely hit and miss, I try and choose really carefully and read the reviews before buying.

I've ordered quite a few knitted jumpers and returned most as they were either see-through, or just wrong HOWEVER, the three jumpers I have always get compliments. I love the bright clear colours they use - can very hard to find elsewhere.

PrimeraVez · 26/04/2020 04:13

I love Hush in theory - the colours, the designs etc.

But in reality the quality is really poor. In fact, I don’t think I have anything from there that has lasted well. It’s all gone shapeless, bobbly etc after just a few wears.

And the sizing is complete random as well which always puts me off as I live overseas so returns aren’t easy.

WhatWouldPennyDo · 26/04/2020 09:57

My Hush harems are v comfy and wash really well. Everything else I have bought from there (except a little cross body bag) has been crap. Washes poorly, doesn’t hold its shape, bobbles quickly.

Mixed review from me, but hope you have better luck!

peachypetite · 26/04/2020 10:01

I don’t get it. Very overpriced and poor quality.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/04/2020 10:18

I own a lot of Hush but I've never paid full price as it's very overpriced for what it is. The sample sales are very good if you can get to London.

problembottom · 26/04/2020 10:32

I'd say sweatshirts are one of Hush's strengths. I have had a fluro pink short sleeved summer one and a grey fleece lined Aloha one for a couple of years now and they look brand new.

I also like their accessories - I have a studded evening bag that a few friends bought as well, it's gorgeous, some great shoes and pieces of jewellery. I also got a couple of fab holiday dresses in their sale.

I understand the criticism as I have sent quite a bit back there due to a strange fit or poor quality. But there are gems to be found.

chartreuse · 26/04/2020 10:59

I bought the hush harems after reading everyone raving about them here. I was really disappointed with the quality, they were so overpriced, sent them back and won't be trying anything else from hush.

Having said that I hope you love your sweatshirt!

Pajamagirl · 29/04/2020 12:53

Okay
It arrived today , the colour was great , liked the weight as it was lightweight and didn’t feel overly bulky as I hate those very heavy sweatshirts . I sized down so the sizing was ok
But neck and sleeves were snipped ( to make it look vintage / old ) but for me it moved from casual to a bit scruffy and at the price not what I was expecting

On balance I will return it , but will maybe order something else in the future as it was a nice sweatshirt.

Thanks for all your comments

I like their styles and some things are really good quality, others not so much. A lot of things come up large, some more average sized. I'm a size 12 and generally order a small in baggier styles and medium if it's a fitted style. I'm 5'7" and find the joggers always come up too short in the leg. I buy quite a lot from Hush though so it's generally a hit in my book- try to buy in the sale as it's definitely over-priced.

2021optimist · 01/01/2021 20:46

I live in their black v necked t shirts (under knitwear etc). They seem to work for me.
