Recommend me a good glasses (spectacles) website please.

My prescription is getting ever more complicated, I’m wearing contacts less and less for various reasons.

I fancy splashing out on a whole “wardrobe” of glasses, but my budget isn’t bottomless. So where is good for good value online glasses with no hassle factor? If they’re open ATM so much the better (I have a copy of my prescription already), but I’ll wait until lockdown lifts if I have to.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cubbits are really good. Based in London but they send you frames to try if you can't visit the shops.

Bailey Nelson - similar vibe to Ace & Tate but they take eye care vouchers if your employer offers them!

I was really disappointed with my last order from Bailey Nelson. My order wasn't properly checked before it was sent out to me. My glasses were not level and were crooked when I put them on. They didn't bother to apologise.

I got ones from Superdrug opticians that i love and more recently firmoo, i think they are made in China, cheap and bloody brilliant

My DH and I have had several pairs of glasses from SpeckyFourEyes, including prescription sunglasses. Impressed with the service, but more importantly the glasses themselves were excellent!

Online glasses are great and cheap but please don't do what many do and complain that glasses ordered online arrive crooked! No one has a perfectly aligned face or ears. That's why you pay more for glasses from an optical business...the dispensing optician is there to adjust and fit the glasses to you. (Disclaimer....ex optician who got pissed off with abuse from people who expected me to adjust their online glasses for free!)

Lastburritos the glasses were crooked when I put them on my desk their quality control is poor. They did not lie flat. Never had this problem with Cubitts.

Cubitts...as in the handmade spectacle makers? So made to fit you, and not off the shelf and ordered over the internet cheaply?

Oh no, it looks like they do both handmade and off the shelf.

Buynewspecs based in Ireland are great..my mum, sister and husband have bought and excellent quality.

Thanks. Maybe I’ll order one pair from each suggested site to test them all. I want a range of styles anyway.
