Going blonde at home...

I know lots will tell me it shouldn't be attempted, but I've gone from mid brunette to a lovely blonde using 40vol bleach x 2, Olaplex 1 + 2, and lots of purple shampoo and toner!

So it's a success and I'm delighted, but after the first bleach I waited 48hours before re-bleaching, how does this work when doing root touch up?? Will I have to have brown roots... then orange for a few days, then finally blonde??

I'm an amateur here....

When I used to do my own blonde root touch ups at home (I'm now back to natural redhead) I found that your roots are the quickest to take as the heat from the scalp speeds the process along. You have to work quickly and try not to overlap. But you should only need one session, especially if you use 40vol although I'd probably drop to a 30vol if only for use on regrowth Smile

im not a professional just taking from my own experiences

Ooh can you tell me what bleach and developer you used please? I've been looking for a powder bleach!

Thank you! I used Jerome Russell B-blonde powder and 40vol developer.

Having done some research after the fact, 30vol may have done the job! The Olaplex was the most important thing to prevent damage (bought a sample size on eBay)

Did you use the 40vol with the toner too? Sorry for all the questions!

I used bleach London white toner- probably wasn't the most cost affective way of doing it but it sort of worked, it was the second bleach/tone/ purple shampoo that really made the difference!
