I have had monthly pedicures for too long to remember including shellac in the last few years.
My naked nails are really discoloured and horrible.
What can I do to get them back in shape. Prepared to go natural but not hobbit !
Obviously I should have paid more attention but how do you get the skin that grows over the tiny toe nails off at home ? It is more than simply pushing the cuticles back the skin is sort of calloused over the nail.

No shellac. Use anti fungal nail treatment.

You can buy cuticle remover, that you put on the toes and then push back. It works much better than just using the cuticle stick.

Try a foot peel mask. It takes off dead skin all over the foot in about 2 weeks. It’s disgusting but fascinating. Footner is the brand name everyone recommends but DD and I both used these much cheaper ones last week and our feet are shedding dead skin in sheets at the moment.

we need photos of your feet...
a good foot file is needed if hard skin there, foot cream with urea in it is good for dry skin, soak and push back cuticles, don't do it dry.

I already file and mosturize daily so the heels and soles are fine.
The problem is the nails.
Some are warped, yellowly and the cuticles are thick and not defined. The tiny toes are the worst.

Following as have similar nail problems 🙄

happyjack12 · 23/04/2020 19:40

ooh, I think you may have a fungal thing going on... are a couple of nails sort of crumbly?

Bumblebee6789 · 23/04/2020 19:58

It looks like a fungal nail infection. You need to get it treated as it can spread to all toe nails.

habibihabibi · 24/04/2020 04:55

The nails arent really crumbly, more mis-shapen which may be from running.
I may try the some tea tree and lavender oils and some anti fungal cream if it gets past the herbal stage.
How do I get the cuticles in shape ?

Honestly I wouldn’t bother with herbal. It might spread to all other nails and all right down to the bottom. You need to get a toe nail clipping sent off for sampling via your GP and then they’ll confirm it, and get it treated properly.

Oh dear looks like a fungal nail infection. It's difficult to get rid off and you need to be careful it doesn't spread. It looks fairly mild so it might be difficult to persuade a GP to prescribe terbinafine tablets. You can get over the counter fungal nail stuff that you paint on the nail after you've filed it down.
