Hi there - I usually have a full head of blonde highlights at the hairdressers. My roots are growing through really badly and I’m tempted to dye it at home. Is this a terrible idea? I’m worried dying a blonde colour over highlights may cause it to go green.

It depends on your natural colour, and if you are wanting to go back to your normal highlights afterwards!

I’m naturally a light/mousey brown colour but my roots seem darker than that. I would like to go back to my usual highlights once this is over.

Wouldn’t it be easier to leave it for your hairdresser than risk getting it wrong and needing colour correction.

There must be loads of you needing your roots doing by now.
