Collagen face cream recommendations

I don't wear make up, and my cleansing routine is just a bar of soap. Occasionally a bit of Olay face cream! I'm 41 and noticed my skin has got quite dry, and is starting to look a bit like crepe paper! My eyes are looking pretty dark and sunken too😲 I'm assuming this is a lack of collagen?? So I'm looking for recommendations for a good collagen face cream please! TIA

You can't really get collagen into your skin with a cream. The molecule is too large to pass through your epidermis. There are surgical wafers made of collagen that are placed into wounds but even those, you need to be eating enough protein to direct a surplus. You would be better off trying things that promote collagen synthesis within your skin. So... retinol. (Other things that actually work are hyaluronic fillers but they are invasive and expensive -- and seem to make people look pretty weird after a while.)

You could try The Ordinary retinol at night and the Buffet serum for the am to see how you go - they are cheap.

....And wear sunscreen!

Suggest Biore Watery Essence.

I’d second what @lokoho says & add a red light led face mask in IF, and only if your the type to use it a few times a week.

The ordinary do a vit c powder too, you mix it with the sunblock and it increased collagen levels with repeated use. You need to build up with that one. If it stings you’ve used too much.

@lokoho Thank you, I'll look them up!

@Fluffycloudland77 Brilliant thank you. Never heard of the led face masks before!
