Kids summer shoes recommendations

My DD is 4 and needs shoes. She has trainers, and needs some kind of summer shoes. Obviously cant go and get her feet measured, but I've measured her feet myself so have a rough size.

Last year she refused to wear her sandals. They were fitted for her, she liked the look of them and they were Startrite so supposedly a good make. She just seemed to hate the feel of them.

This year she said she wants sandals, but has said no to every picture of a sandal I have shown her.

Any recommendations for kids summer shoes that are cool, comfy, and colourful?

Boden do amazing girls sandals that are really comfy and colourful. Easy returns and they have 25% off at the moment. My daughter loves their footwear as it’s comfy.

Saltwater sandals have been winners for us for the last three years.

Definitely saltwaters. Wear really well and although on the pricier side will be happily passed down to younger siblings.

Maybe difficult under lockdown but under normal circumstances we've found some excellent sandal bargains in TK Maxx. Last year we got some great ones from a Spanish Birkenstock-style brand and also Startrite (know you said these weren't so good for you though). Maybe in a few weeks (here's hoping) when shops are open?

Thank you! I was considering saltwater sandals as they do look comfy. Just dont want to spend £££ for shoes she wont wear. Will consider again. Havent checked Boden, thanks. TK Maxx will be tricky on lockdown, but good to know.

I always get my daughters from Next, nice designs and not too expensive.

We love saltwater sandals. There are always quite a few for sale second hand on Facebook so you can buy a cheaper pair for her to try before spending lots.
My little one is 3.5 and she's had them the last 2 summers and will again for this one. I had mine the same length of time and mine still look like new despite lots of wear

For the interim can you get her some crocs, they can go in water, easy to slip on and off and are roomy so easier than trying to get a fitting.
