I’ve just coloured my roots and am very pleased with the results. Normally I get them done every 5 weeks at my salon but now I think I’ll wait a bit longer and do them at home in between appointments.

Looks really good. I've ordered some blue hair dye to try out - I'm dark brown/grey and figure it'll be fun!

Lippy i will try again, cant be doing with my hair all grey and dry looking, old too. My daughter has some red dye spare but not sure if the grey will turn into pink whilst brown may just stay brown?? Lmao still going to give it a go tomorrow day.

Argh what a start to the day my hair is worse than before if it cud be possibly worse, ive just looked again argh 🤣😂😳😲😧😭🤢 explains how many emotions i felt in 40 mins. My daughter laughing her head off. I'm going to have to cut it all off, its nice orange shade were the grey areas were, with a copper tint to it too, and the brown has just got a red fuzzy halo thing going on in the sunlight, ahh god PINK ! Daughter just said about the crown (centre part in middle of head) is PINK ! WTF ! Seriously cutting now ... Wish me luck ha ha

Willow, you need an ash shade or a cool shade if you’re colouring over grey if you want to avoid the Weasley look (been there, done that).

I’ve seen hair dye in stock in the supermarket and pharmacy. Savers also had quite a bit in stock a couple of week ago - as well as hand gel.

@Runningonempty84i have highlighted hair with mousey grey roots coming through. My husband has just done a root tint for me in 7n to cover the greys and give a roots smudge look. Crossing my fingers it looks ok. 20 mins to go

My ends are almost exactly like yours and I have mouse/grey roots to cover and like what you have done

A tint on my roots to cover the greys and blend into my highlights.

Just take care when you do it next time that you don’t go over the bit you dyed today. It can make that bit darker each time you over-dye it. And then it gets a bit stripy.

Been that, got the hairdressers advice....and the stripes!

Last week I dyed my grey hair purple, and I love it, but, when the grey roots grow though, would it work if I applied a different colour to the roots? For 2 colour look? I'm enjoying the purple for now, but I can see I'll get bored with it.
Also can you keep bottles of the mixed dye? and for how long? I thought you had to throw away the unused dye?

@Coffeepot72 it's redken chromatics 7n with 20% developer. It's to cover grey. My hairdresser gave me the details of what to buy.
