Having read these threads over the years I’ve finally got round to measuring myself.

Bending over I got 34 under bust (relatively tight) and 40 over.

My my calculations that’s a 34DD - is this right? I’ve been wearing a 38B which I know is too big in the back and small in the cup but a 34?? I’m a size 12 with a broadish back and small (imo) boobs.

34 would usually be on the bigger end for a size 12, are you tall? A DD isn’t very big Smile

Stick your measurements into this calculator and see what it comes back with

Is that what BoB have you? Your cup size should be bigger I think.

Not mega tall then. What does the calculator say?

Also 34 under bust and 40 over would be a 34E, not 34DD

I’ve done the calculator thingy and that’s come back with 32FF which seems a tiny back size (and big cup size) - do you think it’s right?

That sounds more right. It’s what I usually am and I can assure you it’s not that big. If a non-stretchy tape measure will go round you at 32 inches, a stretchy bra definitely will, and the support should be coming from the band.

It’s also basically the same as what you’re currently wearing in the over bust measurement, but with much better distribution.
38B = 38+2 - 40 inches over bust
32FF = 32+8 - 40 inches over bust

It’s a starting size though, and you may well fit different brands and shapes of bras differently. Different brands cut different, and breasts come in different shapes as well as sizes. The fullness of your breasts will also impact what cup styles work for you (like fitting jeans really) Bras with padding are also harder to fit correctly. I’d buy a selection from Brastop and see how they fit as a start Smile
