Scrunch curl straight hair?

Baskin · 18/04/2020 11:18

Is it possible?? I have straight hair but when it’s wet it goes into lovely curls, sadly when I dry it it’s completely straight again. I have on hand, mousse, sea salt spray and curl cream (all dp’s)
I’m wondering if I scrunch one of these in when wet the nice waves will hold, and it’s not like I have anything better to do 🙄
So anyone tried this? And what product is likely to give best result.

Do you leave it to dry naturally?

I’ve tried but it went very frizzy

You could put these in and blow dry it

I bought some for step daughter and they worked really well

Or try this and let it dry naturally (with scrunch cream in)

My hair is naturally wavy & I just let it dry naturally so can't help I'm afraid.

John Frieda air dry mousse is good. I have naturally wavy/loose curl hair and this is what I use to define my curls. It doesn’t dry hard like a normal mousse

Yes, totally possible. Do you have a diffuser for your hair dryer?

You need more product than you think. If you have any regular gel, slather it on and just keep scrunching. You can use a flannel to help remove moisture, just use it to scrunch. Any crunch left from the product just needs to be scrunched out. Loads of tutorials online l. I like the inky curls London insta page.

Only curls. Even

And tip your head upside down to get volume while you do it.

Have a look into the curly girl method. Lots of info on MN and FB.

@DonPablo is obviously a curly haired person, too Wink definitely use a spray in conditioner after washing and then mousse. Scrunch to encourage the curls or waves, tip head upside down and use a diffuser.
For me, the back is the bit that needs my attention so I bring the diffuser close to my roots and hold it there for 30 seconds and do that all over, scrunching as I go.
Still with head upside down I hang the ends into the diffuser which encourages my spirals.
Lastly, when it's not quite dry I stop and bring my head upright so my hair has lots of volume, then I add a tiny bit of Argan oil to my hands and work this through the curl ends.
Hope this helps Smile

PS - don't wash it everyday. There's a few curl reactivating products I can recommend: Cantu and Twisted Sista.
