Currently 27 years old going on 28, had my second baby in November. I feel and look terrible. We are isolating completely as my daughter had bronchiolitis. I have lost a lot of my hair on the sides of my head (bald patches) and my teeth feel sensitive and horrible (despite flossing and brushing and seeing the hygienist in March), my gums just seems so sore.

I'm feeling so old, will it get any better? Cannot recognize myself in the mirror and feel so depressed.

Sounds rubbish.Flowers You sound run-down. Are you taking a decent daily multi-vit and getting some daily sunshine, despite the isolation?

littlebigwoman · 18/04/2020 12:39

@domesticslattern yes, I'm taking some post pregnancy vitamins, but the sun unfortunately very little :( feel like I need a makeover (and a holiday).

Hello, I felt like my baby breastfed me completely dry! Lost chunks of hair, my teeth went see through and sensitive, dull skin, felt so old! As my hair grew back in sticking up chunks I got a short pixie cut which was fab and it's nice and thick (but still short) now, trying to sort teeth out but hard at the moment obv. Was just looking into better products for skin and trying to think about new clothes but now I'm pregnant again... I have no real advice! Just sympathy. The short haircut definitely helped and so did doing one thing to look after myself, even if it was just taking a multivitamin and actually moisturising. And you are in a really hard stage if you have a toddler and a five month old and you're isolating. It will get better, you will feel better, this situation will pass

@buhbutterybiscuitbase my front teeth seem more transparent too! I wonder if it's hormone related. I'm hoping to start weaning her when she's 6 months old (2 weeks time) and get some rest.

My teeth seemed a little transparent a few years ago and I used tooth mousse, my dentist suggested it. It really made a difference for me.

It's early days OP. Your hair will grow back. Your teeth will feel less sensitive.

Give it time and look after yourself- keep taking your vitamins, eat some good meals. Keep hydrated.

You've just had a baby, please don't be so negative about yourself Flowers

Having kids takes it's toll on all of us huni and we don't have allot of time for pampering etc like we did pre kids.

On a night.
Get yourself a nice outfit out ready for the morning to put on.
Get your skincare sorted (lots of good threads on here. I'm currently trying to sort mine out)
Wear some lovely perfume daily.

Your hair will grow back. Could you take some vitamins? Those skin hair and nails ones? They might help. Check they're safe for breastfeeding though.

You sound really worn out. I know this isn't ideal but maybe try going to bed when the kids do so you can catch up on sleep? I still do this now sometimes 😂

@littlebigwoman Thank you, I will have exactly the same age gap as you and can just see me with a five month old crawling around after the toddler like a sleep-deprived shrivelled old prune in dirty leggings. Good luck with weaning and getting some rest

littlebigwoman · 18/04/2020 15:07

Thank you so much Flowers I know it will get better one day, luckily I'm not meeting with anyone these days Grin
