Anyone want to come on an imagination shopping trip?

I'm heading into Manchester Town centre.

I'm going to grab an iced lemonade first then browse some shops.

I want some slippers and new PJs (as I wear fuck all else now)
I think I may get some comfy granny knickers too.

I'm going to have to go to lush and get a shit tonne of bath bombs as the bathroom is the only place I get any peace, so my soak time is maximised.

I also need razors as my legs look like my mother mated with a yeti on a camping trip.

From there I think I'll head into the Lindt shop and stock up because the 14 lockdown lbs I've already gained just doesn't feel like enough!

I might get my eyebrows and nails done, but I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for that level of personal interaction yet so we'll see...

On the way out I'll nip in to Primarni and spend another £80 on shit I really don't need but my mind has turned to mush so that Little Mermaid brush looks like the most amazing thing I've ever seen and I'm pretty sure I need £1 lipstick in every shade they have??!

Then back home to get into my new jammies for the next 3 weeks.

Huzzah.

If we're in Manc, I'll have to go to Uniqlo - nice pyjamas, comfy elasticated keks!

dudsville · 17/04/2020 21:26

Do i get agn allowance for this trip? I'd like to go for a lovely meal, a great quality high end Chinese perhaps, then go to a birkenstocks and pick up too many pairs of arizonas. I'd like to finish off with a nice Italian ice cream.

JMAngel1 · 18/04/2020 09:31

I'll join you for a sniff round Selfridges perfume hall - I am sooooo missing smelling new spring scents.
Then hit up Zara followed by a Cafe Nero cappuccino ( they do the best ones even though the chain issue is annoying).
I would also end up in Primark for satin pjs and lightweight joggers - all mine are fleece lined.
Maybe a cheeky Prosecco in The Ivy on the way home?

My first stop would be a a pot of tea and a massive cake somewhere, then I'd go to Oasis and spend loads in their closing down sale, fit and flare dresses, little 1950s style cardigans, some really nice patterned tshirts, and maybe some cheap jewelry. Next on the list would be Clarks, I'm after some new ankle boots, preferably suede. Maybe some shoes too. Next I'd go to somewhere like, House of Fraser to get 4 new bras, 2 tshirt ones and some nice undies, on my way out I'd stop at a make up counter and get some stunning new lipsticks and matching blushers. Before heading home I'd get my hair cut, legs waxed and a facial. 😊

BusterGonad · 18/04/2020 11:04

I forgot I'd also go to Levis and buy 2 pairs of the best fitting jeans known to man! 👖😂

VenusClapTrap · 18/04/2020 12:08

I’ll join BusterGonad for tea and cake, and then I might buy some new pants. Where do you recommend? I’m coming up on the train and I haven’t been to Manchester for donkey’s years. Somebody mentioned Selfridges?

BusterGonad · 18/04/2020 12:24

I don't think I'll be in Manchester though, maybe Bristol, Bath or even London. Ideally I'd have one of Costa Coffees huge Fondant Fancy cakes! Or if it was a granny chic cafe a homemade Victoria sponge or good old traditional Batternburg.
I would also get some really great fitting crew crew or boat neck tshirts in marl grey, black, navy and white. As you can tell I want to burn all of clothes and start again. I've never gone so long needed new clothes in my life and Covid19 is the icing on the cake...

Oooh yes...I could do with an imaginary shopping trip for our holiday.... which will probably be an imaginary one (Disney in August?) I'll join you by Zoom from Cardiff... as I cant justify non essential travel .. imaginary or otherwise.

I will need some comfy sandals so will probably try Clark's and Schuh, then a mooch around John Lewis for some summer clothes and a quick stop in their cafe for coffee and cake and just to enjoy the view.

Then head off to Next for a linen shift dress before Primark and the Disney Store for some disney themed goodies. Got to Pop to boots for some nail varnish remover as lockdown has driven me to painting my nails a different colour each day.

Lunch at wagamamas and a couple of cocktails somewhere outdoors.

Then finally an expensive impulse purchase of something I don't really need but just to make it a perfect day.

Thanks for getting me out of the house. We must do it again soon Smile

Ooh I love shopping in Manchester! I’d start in the Arndale and go to Homesense, then have a general potter around the shops to definitely include Lindt and Fossil. Then I’d go over to Selfridges via the glass tunnel where I’d kid myself that I actually like the stuff they sell, before ending up in m&s and actually buying stuff. I would traipse back to Pieminister for lunch if it is a cold day where there would hopefully be a table free. If not I’ll settle on Nando’s. I’d have a wander up Market Street in the afternoon and call in the massive primark. I’d then pop in costa for a latte and cake or maybe a glass of wine somewhere before going home as I have a busy day tomorrow at the Trafford Centre.

Rainb0w · 18/04/2020 16:22

Oh I would love a vertual shopping spree!

I would love a wonder round the handbag area in selfridges, I 'need' a new purse might accidentally buy myself that mulberry one I've been looking at. Anybody fancy a glass of fizz in one of their bars?

Could do with a few new work dresses just the basic cotton ones so I'll pop into the lovely big marks and spencers.

By now ill probably be needing another sit down... Hopefully cafe Nero will have one of their big leather sofas free.

You guys can pop off to primarni whilst I save your shopping bags if you like? I don't think I'm allowed in primark Manchester anymore after one particular Saturday afternoon when i really lost my patience!

Think I might stop the night in an hotel I love an hotel bath and a night in a really nice hotel before I drive out to Cheshire oaks tomorrow if anybody fancies joining me?

JaceLancs · 18/04/2020 21:38

I always find something in tkmaxx Manchester arndale
Love uniqlo
Missing cafe Nero badly

BusterGonad · 19/04/2020 03:11

If i had never ending money I'd probably go to Origins and get a whole new skin care set including face masks.

Gingerkittykat · 19/04/2020 03:51

I hate shopping but would make an exception now I know there is a Lindt shop.

I also fancy a trip to Lush, is there a spa in the Manchester one? If so I will get the most expensive session they have.

I've never been to Manchester but expect there will be a nice Japanese restaurant somewhere.

I also need some knickers as the elastic has gone on most of mine.

I'll spend the rest of the day in an art gallery,

Ineedabreak19 · 19/04/2020 05:28

Sorry I'll have to leave you & jump on the train to Liverpool as the lush there has a Spa & there's a Lindt shop. Plus Arket and Co's but I'm willing to bring back goodies if you give me a shopping list & money.

chrispenrallt1 · 19/04/2020 05:34

Where do we meet up!

Ineedabreak19 · 19/04/2020 05:49

Liverpool Lime Street station

Tempnamelady · 19/04/2020 06:01

Oh yes Liverpool! I live in Manchester, so Liverpool a nice change for me ! Love the shops there.

Ineedabreak19 · 19/04/2020 06:05

I will have to start in Manchester though as Liverpool doesn't have a Uniqlo but practically everything else.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 19/04/2020 08:54

Ah Liverpool has a Lindt shop as well. I'll come to Liverpool with you because that's home turf for me, although I get back so rarely now the shops change on me!

CoolShoeshine · 19/04/2020 10:32

My mind is blown, I never knew Lush had a spa! I’m presuming it’s a beauty treatment area within the store, rather than a country club type affair where you wear a robe and go in the steam room? That would be fun, they could chuck bath bombs in the pool.
I love a Liverpool for shopping too, both great cities and I will definitely be revisiting both as soon as I possibly can.
