What would you buy? Remembering i can't be 100% on what my colour matches i would be so should i stick to generic non-specific products like a basic concealer and eye/cheek colours? What are nice eye shadow colours from there?

If you know whether you’re warm, cool or neutral toned then you should be able to find a lipstick to suit your colouring...

But eyeshadow is a good option too - if you know what colours you like and use then just look for some in that range.

I like to watch YouTube reviews/swatches/tutorials to see the relevant make up items in action before I buy (I mostly buy online).

MAC Cosmetics - 'Prep + Prime Fix+' Setting Spray is brilliant, highly recommend. That's about £20, and then I'd get the power hungry palette which is £33 is a mix of different eyeshadows and highlighters that would look really good on most skin tones I think!

Thekindyoufindinasecondhand · 15/04/2020 14:49

Oh they have a mini spray! m.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/13827/34510/products/skincare/travel-size/fix-mini-mac#/shade/Original

Prunella eye liner

Changedname78 · 15/04/2020 16:24

Lipstick! You can try them on using a photo online

Changedname78 · 15/04/2020 16:24

They are actually quite accurate too as I checked it with one I already have

EdithHope · 15/04/2020 17:28

Well, if you don't want to buy base products, then how about brushes? I've always found their brushes to be good quality and last ages.

Another favourite of mine is the Blot Powder, only slightly coloured so no need for an exact match. I also like their gel eyeliner pots and liquid eyeliner pens / felt tip pens.

welliwasntexpectingthat · 15/04/2020 19:54

Gel eyeliner yes, i'd forgot about them! I'm going to go with a concealer, the palette suggested, spray and gel eyeliner....guessing i'll be adding to it but oh well.

The online lipstick tool is fabulous and I also tried it against some colours I had. Very easy to use and accurate. The eyeshadow one is pants though.

emma6776 · 16/04/2020 07:10

I’d get a lovely eyeshadow, prep & prime spray (amazing) and strobe cream. The mini size of strobe cream lasts me 6 months. Or a blusher.

Pajamagirl · 17/04/2020 07:33

Strobe cream , gives a lit from within look under foundation or as a highlighter on cheekbones etc

I am blonde blue eyes and I use ‘pink light ‘ which I think is the original one , it’s about £25 but it’s a repeat buy for me

Glitterb · 17/04/2020 11:34

MAC lipsticks and eyeshadows are brilliant and well worth the money for me!

The foundation smells funny to me so I don’t like it very much, but the strobe cream is fabulous as is the fixing spray!

Ticklemeelmo · 17/04/2020 16:06

Can't go wrong with Satin Taupe eyeshadow, I think this is one of the shades that would suit nearly everyone.

violetbunny · 17/04/2020 17:14

I absolutely love their lip primer. I usually get some dryness with any matte lipsticks, this stops the dry feeling and definitely extends wear. The trick is to apply and leave it to set for a minute before applying lipstick.

Thinkle · 17/04/2020 17:55

Another vote for fixing spray... lavender mmmm
