Lush have stopped online sales - where can I get shampoo and conditioner bars?

Just went to order some as I'm getting low but they've suspended online sales (fair enough). Does anyone know of anywhere still selling them? I use the coconut rice shampoo bar and the pink conditioner bar (not sure what it's called), I've got fine, blonde (dyed) hair, tends towards greasy roots (nice).

You know Lush are back online?

AnnaMagnani · 05/07/2020 09:50

I like the All Natural Soap Company (and their soap is gorgeous)

Yes she does know but has bought elsewhere in April and says she likes the idea of supporting smaller companies.

What is the difference between body soap and shampoo bars? I ran out of bottled shampoo the other day and out of interest (and desperation) I used my normal Dove body soap. My hair was very soft and shiny afterwards is it the same with an increased price tag or is there something different in the shampoo bars.

I really struggle with a lot of the shampoo bars - they use as a selling point that they are SLS free but I want the SLS!

Sooverthemill · 05/07/2020 11:51

@JoJoHasIt when I started buying from Lush in 1990 they were a small company! In Poole. Chocolate shampoo was my favourite. They issued a newspaper style brochure and you sent off for stuff. Pre-Wide use of the internet of course. Oh the olden days.

Spanglemum · 05/07/2020 14:54

I remember those days too! And Cosmetics To Go.

PickAChew · 05/07/2020 14:56

Dove isn't actual soap. It's pretty much solid hand-wash.

LostaraYil · 05/07/2020 15:04

I second the friendly soap co. Been using the bars since January and don't need conditioner anymore. The travel soap smells amazing.

Coffee4Queen · 05/07/2020 16:20

This shop has wonderful stuff and it’s vegan. They do laundry soapnuts too

I might try using dove soap

These are gorgeous goodwash.co.uk/product/shampoo-bar-110g/

Pressed post too quickly. Use them for travel/swimming (when we could) and the soap scents are divine - scents the whole bathroom.

MrsKingfisher · 05/07/2020 17:47

KinKind are lovely, the nourish is my favourite leaves no residue nice light coconut smell, I'm a total shampoo and conditioner bar convert!

TBH I hadn't even looked to see whether Lush were up and running again. I like the idea of supporting smaller businesses and am working my way through the recommendations on the thread. I'd sort of defaulted to Lush in the first place because it was easy, but I'm enjoying finding out about the smaller, family-run companies that people have mentioned. It somehow feels the right thing to do in the current climate.

I also remember the early days of Lush and Cosmetics to Go.

What a shame that as such a long standing and loyal customer over the last 30 years they have forgotten who I am. #realadultwoman

Sooverthemill · 05/07/2020 19:55

It's good to try different brands
