I can't see the photo for some reason, but I just wanted to say it matters less what other people think and more what you feel about yourself. I feel infintely better about myself now I am nearly 33, size 18, boobs like puppy dog ears, and thigh flesh like a turkey's neck than i did when I was 18 and had all my bits in the right place and had an eating disorder (like everyone else i knew).
I also exercise daily (walk with kids, try to do some yoga, and swim rarely) which really helps; I eat whatever I want; I spend a lot on hair and skin products; and I have my own sense of style (tesco meets ebay meets vogue).

I am also drinking wine which makes me a bit verbose. Apologies for the rambling. My point is this: build your self esteem and you will project a confident image of yourself.

pmsl I am 29[30 in a couple of months] and my mum is 50 next yr.

Will look at investing in a bra.

Bravissimo is very nice but I like Royce bras from Debenhams - they are clearly made from iron girders as they even keep my norks in good order (eyes front and centre puppies)

I read further down and saw that you want to lose weight. That's great if you want to do it and are doing it for you. But I think that the message coming through loud and clear on here and that there are a few easy things that would make you feel a million dollars. Ok, you need to find the money but let's say you decided to go for a new top, bra and haircut. It could be done in a day and you could walk back into the house looking marvellous.

I detected a hint of feeling a bit defeated where you said it wouldn't happen over night (sorry if I'm reading too much into that). If weight is an issue for you then, of course, that bit won't. But lots of other things could happen overnight (well, in an afternoon, when the shops are open...)

whomovedmychocolate · 13/09/2007 20:44

Hey what do you know - I'm nearly FOUR YEARS older than you! See, now don't you feel better.

lulumama · 13/09/2007 20:45

and i am older than you too !! but i have Good Bras seriously, TMMJ is right, a good bra can take stones off you !

whomovedmychocolate · 13/09/2007 20:48

Lulu is right - two good stones can be lifted from your chest (and thrust under your armpits) with the right bra

TMMJ - sorry but that's HORRID - horizontal stripes - I'm a size 10 top and I wouldn't wear that because it'd make me look: (a) fat; and (b) like a rumble strip

V necks can be good, round necks can be good. Depends on your haircut and also how much space you have between neck and waist. If you have good norkage, a scoop neck can be FAB!

Ah yes, a scoop neck can be fab, but a round neck never makes large boobs look their best. When I wear a round neck I look like I have one, enormous breast

Nemo2007 · 13/09/2007 20:51

pmsl ok I PROMISE to buy a decent bra when I next have money!

RibenaBerry - is that because you are berry shaped?

Do you not have a cleavage then that differentiates boob from boob? Or do you have one of those 'mash them together and up on a platter' bras?

oregonianabroad · 13/09/2007 20:54

Accessories.

RibenaBerry · 13/09/2007 20:55

I am not berry shaped (thankfully) but I find that when I wear a round necked top I look like I have one, large (admittedly sausage shaped) breast. Somehow I just don't get the definition between left and right that I would like...

Before I get shouted at, this is not for want of a decent bra. Am devoted to bra shopping and bras for those large of nork...

whomovedmychocolate · 13/09/2007 20:56

Well mine don't!

Mind you mine are well spaces and point due northwest and northeast respectively. (Which is helpful when you get lost )

RibenaBerry · 13/09/2007 20:57

whomovedmychocolate - in that case you are a very, very lucky lady and I salute you.

TMMJ- thank god it's not just me!

whomovedmychocolate · 13/09/2007 20:57

If it makes you feel any better Ribena, my gran never wore a bra and she was not exactly svelte. When she got to her seventies, I swear to you she appeared to have three pendulous breasts, each hanging to below the waist. We assume the middle one was actually her stomach
