Hi all, what brands can you recommend that are good for basics that will last? Particularly t-shirts, knitwear and tailored jackets. I always buy cheap and regret it. During lockdown I've been wfh and relying on leggings/T-shirt/cardigan combo for ease and it's made me look closely at the contents of my wardrobe and notice how shabby it looks. I think as I'm overweight I buy clothes for the short term as I'm always going to lose weight, aren't I Hmm!

I'm looking for brands that aren't high end and do up to size 18, and better quality than Next and M&S basics. Thanks!

Uniqlo

Not sure about sizing, but I tend to go for:
Hobbs and Boden sales for work jackets

Jigsaw t-shirts are a new discovery and excellent quality: I wait until they have money off

recent knitwear successes have been Boden and viscose stuff from M&S - stay well aware from M&S cashmere

I know this isn't what you asked and I agree re Uniqlo being good quality vs M&S / Next. However I've noticed clothes lasting longer with gentler and shorter washes in the machine.

Thanks all and for the tip @Thedevilofsmallthings!
