Short, fat and 40! Help

Hi!

Over the last year I've put on a considerable amount of weight, turned 40 and also had a bit of a rough ride with various aspects of life.

I've got to this point in the year where the weather is warming up and I literally have no clothes that fit suitable for the spring/summer months.

I need to try and get some basics, I'm 5ft 2in and a size 16/18 Apple shape. I have to wear black to work and spent the winter in skinny jeans and long sleeved tops, but now that I'm rounder in the middle it really isn't a good look.

Can anyone point me in the right direction- ultimately I know I need to lose weight but right now I'm just not in the right place.

Thanks 🙏

I'm similar tbh and I have found styled by susie really useful - she is a stylist (or one of her small team) who provides an analysis of your shape and colouring and will offer you many different suggestions and tips. You pay for the analysis by submitting photos and then receive it via email.

Really helpful re what to by and can be incredibly surprising as to what shape/colours to wear!

I've just lost 11kg from a keto diet. I use carb manager on my phone to help my track my intake. It took a while to work out which veg/food etc was 'ok' and what amounts kept my under my carb limit. It was fine though. Didn't feel restrictive in terms of still having plenty of veg to choose from, meat, fish, cream, butter etc.

In terms of clothes, it depends on your shape? Apple, pear, hourglass etc. There are lots of sites that help with clothes for certain shapes. I was a 16 hourglass, with G boobs. On me, a V neck is most flattering, as the eye goes up and down the body, rather than cutting across like a round neck does. I always wear a 3/4 sleeve, as it covers the upper arm and stops at a thinner part. For me, pencil skirts finishing at or just below the knee are flattering. Work out your shape, and there are lots of tips to accentuate your good points.
