I cleanse tone and moisturise and double cleanse tone and moisturise at night.
I do facemasks 3 times a week and exfoliate twice a week.
It still looks like this.

Thank you everyone. Lots of options I can try. I've just bought the nip and fab glycolic cleanser, pads and the superfacialist face mask. I can't afford the sand and sky one. I might get the ordinary mask as well.

Make sure you're using sunscreen if you use acid pads

Following - I have the same problem

It’s salicylic acid you need as it’s the only active ingredient that can actually get in to the pores. All the others will only work on the surface.

I swear by Paula's choice 2% BHA. I don’t apply it with cotton wool. I tip some into my hand and dab it on with my fingers.

There are some good high street ranges that contain salicylic acid. Neutrogena do a range, in orange packaging. Have a look at the ingredients list.

You might find Dr Dray on YouTube interesting. She is a US dermatologist and has loads of videos on this subject.

I'll definitely have a look at Dr Dray. Thank you.

The other thing I do that’s made a massive difference is home “derma-planing”. It has made a huge difference to the texture of my skin. I just bought some facial razors from amazon. It’s made any skincare penetrate better.

This will be unpopular but going out for a few hours of full sun sorts mine. Being indoors all the time is not good for my skin, maybe yours is the same.

I find wearing foundation makes it worse so use sparingly and only if going somewhere.

My skin is so much clearer in summer.

Lottiebugz22 · 14/04/2020 13:44

Yes I agree with the sun helping.

The sun only helps in the short terry. In the long run, it causes more damage and messes up the pores badly!!! Look up solar comedones on google.

silver1977 · 15/04/2020 09:44

Hope you're using high spf @PippaPegg?!

You don't want pigmentation problems or worse...

trumpisaflump · 15/04/2020 10:00

OPEN I think you've bought the wrong aid in your nip and fab pads. Glycolic acid is for dry skin. As a previous poster said you need salicylic acid as it's oil soluble so will penetrate into the oily pores. Any one will do but the Paula's Choice BHA is good. I don't love The Ordinary salicylic acid i'be as it's quite thick and gloopy.

trumpisaflump · 15/04/2020 12:04

Oh jeez! OP not OPEN and acid not aid!!

sunfloweryy · 15/04/2020 21:31

Mine looked like that too and I’ve started using a drop of The Ordinary Niacinimde and a drop of The Ordinary Salicylic acid mixed together and it’s cleared up loads.
I have to remember to moisturise tho as it’s quite drying!
