Hi, I’ve always really been drawn to blonde hair and I think I’d like to try something new after the lockdown.
What kind of shade of blonde do you think might suit? Obviously it’s hard to tell without seeing a picture of me but I have brown eyes and fairly pale skin
My natural hair colour is quite like the image I’m gong to attach
Any advice or other colour suggestions would be appreciated thank you!

Did you have blonde hair as a child? That is a very rough but generally OK guide for whether a lighter shade will suit you.

At best you should try to hold a strand of the new colour over the corner of your eyebrow and eye, but look at your whole face / upper body to get an idea of how it would look and whether it would complement or clash with your colouring.

@Chochito thanks for your response! I had very fine blonde hair as a 1 year old but by the time I was 2, it had turned very dark brown. I’m not sure if that counts Grin

I’m naturally brunette but blonde hair really suits me. I get a lot of compliments, my stylist even uses my photos on his Instagram to promote his work. My natural colour is darker/ashier toned than your photo, it took 2 sessions of full highlights to go fully blonde, it’s a light cream tone. First session session gave me a sort of ombré (but better!) - blonde lengths with more brunette toned roots.

Obviously the problem with going blonde from brunette is that it might not be possible in one session, so instead of picking the exact shade you want you might end up having to compromise with a warmer/darker colour to protect the condition of your hair. Particularly as your pic looks auburn in areas, so highlights for example would look warmer due to the base/left out hair being warm

There are different ways to go blonde, eg full head colour, highlights, balayage etc.
