Koleston Perfect application

Hi,
After seeing lots of people recommend it, I have ordered some koleston perfect to cover my grey hair, rather than a box dye, which doesn't fully cover the grey any more.
I have ordered 6/0 and 6% welloxon perfect developer. I was going to just do the roots and comb it through for the last 5 mins (my hair is already roughly this colour).
I don't know how much dye to mix? Or if this is the correct plan of action. I have thick hair and which is just past my chin.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Following with interest! I’ve bought some too - it’s actually what my hairdresser uses normally. I’m mixing 55/0 and 66/0 in equal amounts. I think you then mix in the same amount of Welloxen developer (so the same amount of developer as the total amount of dye). I haven’t done it yet so hope I’m right!

I would just take through your whole head as it won't be a perfect match to the ends unless your hairdresser normally uses this colour. It's one part to one part developer so half a tube is 30 mls and 30mls 6%. I do find the intense colors like 66/0 rather than 6/0 are better at covering grey.

The 66/0 77/0 88/0 etc. Are best for covering grey. If you’re really resistant add the closest of these to the colour you want. Maybe Half and half.

With 6% it’s equal developer to colour

If you do your roots and then roughly drag down / brush down the colour (excess) you won’t tend to get the different bands of colour. It’s blends in better.

I do 15ml of 55/0, 15ml of 5/37, and 30ml of developer.

It's turned out ok!
Much nicer colour than the box dyes. The roots have lifted a little more than the ends, I think I should have saturated all my hair for the first go, but I'll do that next time, it's only a very subtle difference. And the condition is much better too.
I think I might order a level 5 shade too, and 15ml of each.
Thanks for all the advice Smile

Thanks! I’m going to attempt mine tomorrow. No idea how I’ll manage the back.....

I sectioned it and just felt along the line where I had parted the hair, then massaged it into the hair well. I checked it as I went with a second mirror.
There are some good YouTube videos, I watched a couple on how to section the hair.
Hope it goes wellSmile
