Post-acrylic nail care

I've had acrylic nails for years and had a new set just before lockdown. They need to come off but my nails underneath are really flimsy. I hate them.
What do I need? Nail oil? Strengthener? Any product recommendations?

I searched the same on Mumsnet earlier for similar reasons (gel nails for years and historically very weak nails which I dont bite but which split and bend really easily). This was recommended in a thread and I have gone ahead and bought it: can't vouch for it until it arrives and I have tried it for a few weeks.

nailsnailsnails that cream is brilliant. I was sceptical about it but got some from Boots after I read about it on here. It works a treat. I just put it on before bed and it has helped a lot with peeling and bad cuticles (thanks to eczema rather than gels, but point is same).

I'm using 2 coats of Sally Hensen Hard As Nails, refreshed every 3 days or so, along with either CND Solar Oil or CND RXX Rescue treatment multiples times a day (4 or 5 at least). I'm also filing them very very short - just about in line with the tips of my fingers. The nail already on the bed can't be fixed as such, just kept as tidy as possible whilst the new nail grows up. Nu Nail is good too, I keep that in my handbag.

This stuff is amazing...CND Rescue Rx...

Thank you, I just ordered some Nu Nale! I took my acrylics off and my nails are horrific.

I was thinking of getting some stick on nails, but will try the nu nale also.

I cut mine short and use normal polish to add a little extra strength and cover cuticle in nail oil. They are now pretty strong despite not fully outgrown the infill line.
I actually prefer short colourful nails now.
