In the spirit of adding to the hive mind I would like to share that I discovered today that Bleach London Pearlescent does not work on naturally grey /white hair other than to turn your roots pink. Confused

Ooh how exciting! And slightly bizarre. Mine is grey/white and I quite fancy pink - but I take it that wasn't what you were going for. Smile

greenyblueyes · 04/04/2020 18:31

oh shame! pearly white/ silver hair would have been stunning. pink roots sound pretty cool too though!

Puppylucky · 04/04/2020 18:38

It looks like a scalp infection unfortunately.

I can confirm however that it does work on dyed blonde hair - my hair is now a lovely pearly effect of pale pink and a sort of shiny lustre. I put it on dry hair whilst in a boring conference call the other day Grin

When I first saw this thread title I thought it was a suggestion on how the capital should deal with Coronavirus. I think I need to switch off the news!

Maybe not the best photo in the world but...

Hmm can't add photo. I'm pleased with it though.

Oh that's nice! @AndNoneForGretchenWieners.

I really like it. Although it does look pink in some places and not others.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 04/04/2020 19:06

Oh that's because I was doing it without a mirror or any common sense. It is a little patchy.

Puppylucky · 04/04/2020 19:36

Oh Gretchen that's pretty! I would have been happy with that rather than the mixamatosis (sp) effect

Oh I like that!!! I'm furloughed until further notice and have been toying with going back to my youth and going pink .I have highlights...I'm tempted

I love it. It turns my bleached blonde hair into a gorgeous, subtle shade of pink. Not pink pink but just a whisper of it, to knock the brassy fade off. I use it when I want something different than a cool ash/beige toner.

MushroomTree · 06/04/2020 11:33

I like it. I've got dyed platinum blonde hair and usually use the Bleach London Silver shampoo. Might switch when I finish the bottle.

CaroleFuckinBaskin · 06/04/2020 11:40

I love it, it's my go-to shampoo and conditioner at the moment. The conditioner is actually really, um... conditioning and makes my hair feel really soft. It gives such a lovely colour as well, really subtle (unless you leave it on a really long time) but really lovely! Today I have gone a bit maverick though and used the smoky shampoo, but it's not as nice.

I have naturally grey hair (as in a mix of dark and white) that I bleach myself at home, so overall it comes out blonde, due to the ratio of dark bleached hair and white hairs.

MushroomTree · 06/04/2020 11:41

@CaroleFuckinBaskin have you got a photo of your hair with the smokey shampoo on? I also thought about that one but wasn't sure I wanted grey.

CaroleFuckinBaskin · 06/04/2020 22:11

Don't have a photo.... I would say it has a similar effect to the silver shampoo but stronger and darker. So makes it very ashy, not totally 'grey' (although I guess if you kept using it you would eventually get that effect). Also, my hair looks a totally different colour depending on the light!

I have got all 3 shampoos actually and also quite like mixing them, adding a tiny bit of other colours into them (eg. Sometimes add a tiny bit of pink hair dye into the pearlescent conditioner to make the effect stronger) and just playing with the different tones.

MushroomTree · 07/04/2020 08:29

@CaroleFuckinBaskin that sounds nice. I might give that a go when my silver runs out.

How long does it last on your hair? Would it make the bleach react differently when I have my roots done?

Puppylucky · 07/04/2020 19:04

Ah well I'm obviously unlucky as you are all getting the effect I was after. I think it's because I'm grey not bleached and apparently grey hair can be really resistant to colour. Might try again though as the effect does sound lovely
