Shaving my head !! But scared

I am 25 years old and I have been wanting to shave my hair since I was 16 years old. Unfortunately I am really scared to shave because of other people's judgments and I know I shouldn't care but I just think what will everyone say when I walk into work and my family etc. My fiancé and I have been together nearly 10 years and he says he will support me and I would probably get him to cut my hair but I am so scared.

I used to have beautiful thick long hair and as a child all the way through my adult years I have suffered from depression and my hair has become so thin and meh needs a fix up!

Has anyone decided to be so drastic?
How did you feel ? How long till it grows back ? What was your hair like once it grew back? Was it worth it ?

Why do you want to do it? It’s not a panacea for thin hair unfortunately. If you aren’t sure, maybe go for something less drastic. Having said that, I lost all my hair at 19, and it’s been shaved off and on since, and I’m now 62 with a number 1 all over as I only have tufts. Youth carries it better for sure, because your neck and jawline doesn’t need softened, but it’s fine, I mostly like it.

I presume you have got hair clippers, I would start on the longest setting and try a shaved side or undercut first.

Well I guess now is the best time to do it if you're going to be off work for the foreseeable...

Ive done this a few times.
You will find that your clothes look different after.
I looked best with collars and details after, a plain top was just meh.

I think go for it.
If hair is ok in an up do it will be ok shaved.

Total pain to grow back!

I did it on a whim. I bloody loved it but I couldn't care less what people think of my hair. I also loved growing it out as I messed around with edgy pixie cuts, severe bobs, asymmetry etc. It's been 2 years and it's currently about an inch past my shoulders and I might shave it again. It grew back exactly the same as it used to be.

I would cut it to something short like a pixie cut and see how you feel.
I would worry that shaving it all off might be more traumatic than liberating.
