Embracing the wave

I usually dry my hair straight, but the motivation is somewhat lacking at the moment. This is my hair when I let it dry naturally - a wavy and frizzy mess. What sort of products can I use to make it look nice? Would appreciate any advice!

I like the wave!!
You just need some serum. Or curl cream.

Look up Curly Girl. At minimum you need silicone-free conditioner and gel or mousse. Use the conditioner - XHC Ginger conditioner from the pound shop or B&M works well - as a co-wash and comb it through with a wide-toothed comb before rinsing. Pat dry with a T-shirt or microfibre towel. While it's still quite wet, use two, three or four golf-ball sized lumps mousse - I like Pantene Pro-V Defined Curls Mousse Level 5 (£2.99, Boots) - or gel - Boots Essentials Extra Firm Hold Gel (99p). Now, cup a hand under the ends of the hair and bring it up towards the scalp, closing fingers as you do so. This encourages the hair to take up its natural curl pattern. Dry with a diffuser if you have one, or let it air-dry (diffuser is better).

The mousse/gel will dry quite firm, with a cast. Don't comb it out but to scrunch it with your hands when it's quite dry to break the cast.

If you want to try other products there's a spreadsheet [[https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BkWrQezbtqMLJtGokS3NUD7w0UpLPSbtqT4pNKhNqwc/edit#gid=139239716]] and a Reddit group [[https://www.reddit.com/r/CurlyHairUK/]], both listing products available in the UK.

I bet your hair is super curly with product and diffusing !! Why do you straighten it ?
Get some curl cream and a diffuser pronto!( I'm very curly! )

Your hair is beautiful. I have wavy hair. I leave it alone until it’s about half dry then I pin it in a loose swirly bun (not tied up with a band) and leave it alone until it’s dry so it falls in loose waves. Sometimes I run a very tiny amount of coconut oil through it to separate the strands a bit more.
