Are presenters doing own hair and make up?

Just watching the news and my mind drifted from bleak to wondering if presenters are still being styled ie hair and make up. Presumeably you cant do this safely and it's not essential. They're all still looking really good! Trivial I know but a distraction from the bad news...

I'm sure I read lastweek Sophie Rayworth began doing her own make-up. Guess the others did too.... Will make up artists to the news presenters be needed again??

Yes I read about The One show presenter doing her own styling.
Her normal stylist had tweeted her approval of the outfit she had on or something.

They must have picked up a few tips. No way would i be able to do a good blow dry. My usual 'look' (even when i make an effort!) is no where near as glam...

I wondered this! Emily Maitlis looked a bit different on Newsnight for the last couple of nights. Not bad, just different.

We thought this about Ruth on This Morning last Friday but her hair was perfectly blow dried..unless she's just better than me and can do it perfectly by herself!

Phil and holly said something about doing their own on this morning the day! So they are doing their own. They all must be! I agree about Ruth though her hair looked really good!

I bet they're doing their own, they'll have been picking up tips for years and no doubt have hair stylists on the phone for help!

Makeup, I could manage but my hair can be pretty hit and miss if I want it to look smart!

Maybe some have wigs similar to their normal hair? it would save a lot of extremely early starts in the normal run of things

I wouldn't wish anyone out of a job, especially now. Nonetheless, if this leads to more presenters and celebs choosing their own clothes, instead of whatever their stylist tells them to wear, then the world will be a more interesting place.

I wondered this too. I also wondered if Emily Maitlis has a BBH Grin Her hair looks good but different. I can't imagine they'd be taking the risk of employing staff to do this right now.

Yes I caught the end of Piers Morgan on GMB with a bright orange face saying people were taking the mick out of him and saying he needed to learn how to blend his foundation or something! Grin

I thought this the other day when I noticed Louise Minchin's hair looked "undone". Carol Kirkwood's looked great though and much better than normal!

Don't really watch any of those daytime shows, but dh and I noticed that all the newsreaders look v different. Emily Maitlis' hair is MASSIVE and their faces are all a bit paler... I reckon they're using normal make up rather than studio pancake...

BTW, was it me or did we spot Emily M's handbag under her desk on NN last night? If it was, it seemed so sad...like she just turns up for work, straight to her desk, slings the bag under and gets on with the news... No going to the green room, mixing with anyone... Or just me?!?

I was watching HIGNFY and noticed both Steph McGovern and Paul Merton in quite patterned tops (OK I know Paul Merton always wears those) but I though that was a big no on TV so I'm guessing nobody checked!
Steph obviously did her own makeup as she was at home but looked great.
