My boys 12 and 25 and husband are blessed with very thick hair which grows very quickly!! Do you think the shaved look will be in right now? Ds 15 is forever preening his hair even just to walk the dog 😬 wondering if I can convince him to shave it off 😂

Husband shaved his 2 days ago. Luckily his hair grows quickly too !

homemadecommunistrussia · 31/03/2020 08:18

It's only been a week?Confused

SimonJT · 31/03/2020 08:22

I genuinely don’t understand why people are shaving their heads 🤷🏽‍♂️

I have banned my boyfriend from doing it, he had to do it for a stupid role for a friend last year, it looked awful and it’s only just got back to how it was before.

BigFatLiar · 31/03/2020 08:23

Only time DH shaved his head was years ago when the girls had nits. He decided that rather than keeping up with the nit comb and shampoo he'd just cut it all off. Girls and I had to persevere.

crazydiamond222 · 31/03/2020 08:24

I wish. Mine is using home working as an excuse to turn into a monkey Grin

TwistyHair · 31/03/2020 08:25

It’s gonna be happening in a few weeks if the barbers don’t open again

SoupDragon · 31/03/2020 08:25

I genuinely don’t understand why people are shaving their heads

From what I can gather, it's because they can and no one will care because it will have grown back before they have to go out in public again.

DS1 is planning to bleach his but we can't get hold of hair bleach at the moment.

SybilWrites · 31/03/2020 08:26

I have shaved ds2 and the dogs.

TwistyHair · 31/03/2020 08:27

Isn’t it because they can’t get haircuts?

cathyandclare · 31/03/2020 08:31

DD did DH's- it was meant to be longer but it's turned out the full Phil Mitchell 😱

He says he's lockdown ready. I was horrified at first but I'm getting used to it now. He was balding so it had to happen at some time.

Strugglingtodomybest · 31/03/2020 08:35

Ds2 has, he did it a week or so ago when it became obvious they weren't going to be going back to school anytime soon.

He's wanted to do it for ages. After the amount of teasing he's got from the rest of us though, I don't think he'll be doing it again...

Goingunderground2 · 31/03/2020 08:36

Yep, as soon as the lock down was announced !!

ShellsAndSunrises · 31/03/2020 08:39

No... my social media was full of people who’d trimmed their partners hair in the bath this weekend, weirdly, but no full shaves. Thankfully!

Fiancé’s hair grows quickly and he thinks it needs a trim, but I’m encouraging him to leave it alone until someone can do it properly. He’s got lovely hair!

Seventyone72seventy3 · 31/03/2020 08:39

Ds wanted me to do his but has since changed his mind. Angry Shame as we have clippers and fancied a go. We have been on lockdown for five weeks now and he already needed a haircut at the beginning so I think he's going to have to wear a headband or cut it soon.

AppleKatie · 31/03/2020 08:40

I genuinely don’t understand why people are shaving their heads

  1. Because the barbers are closed for the forseeable.
  2. Because I was too stressed trying to tie up ends at work before inevitable closure to be worrying about DC haircuts.
  3. Because with shaving it always looks better with some re growth so actually it’s a sooner IS MUCH better than later situation with regards to rejoining society Grin
  4. I cannot cut hair, I do not have scissors or skill, I can, like most adults run a pair of clippers over a child’s head!
JazzTheDog · 31/03/2020 08:42

I have always done DH and the kids hair with the clippers. They all asked for a trim at the weekend but I felt like hell so they need to wait!

SybilWrites · 31/03/2020 08:45

The young (teen) boys are all doing it at the moment around here - I'm not sure why - I assume it's because they aren't going to school and it doesn't matter if it looks crap. My ds is 11 and wanted to do it too - I think he looks really sweet.

And it does save us all from nits which is a Good Thing.

nearlyfinished1moreyear · 31/03/2020 08:50

I've got clippers so might try an 8 on my am today Smile. I'll ask an gauge his reaction first...

nearlyfinished1moreyear · 31/03/2020 08:51

Should say *lb! Not am

LemonBreeland · 31/03/2020 09:09

DS1 (16) keeps threatening this. He was almost in need of a haircut anyway, and it grows so fast. I want to see what it looks like longer, he thinks that if he cuts it now then there's plenty time for it to grow back. This is true, but his hair could grow back in 3 or 4 weeks and sadly I think we have much longer to go.

DH and DS2 will probably get on the band wagon eventually.

wewillgetthruthis · 02/04/2020 18:31

What clippers are you all using or buying??

FrothyB · 02/04/2020 18:38

Not here, I haven't had a haircut in three years. My partner would go spare if I shaved it all off. Used to have it when I was younger, my brother still does every so often as he prefers it.

Not a look I'm a fan of unless you're going bald anyway. Then again, I know it really rubs some people up the wrong way seeing a man with long hair. Different strokes and all that.

AgeLikeWine · 02/04/2020 18:45

Not a chance. DP has got a full head of lovely thick wavy salt & pepper hair and he knows that if he had a buzz cut & looked like a chav or a thug he would be single! Grin

TinklyLittleLaugh · 02/04/2020 20:17

I’m a bit tempted myself. Grew all my hair colour out last year and was very happy with my ash blonde/grey. Foolishly allowed the family to talk me into dying it red again last summer.

I really liked my natural hair. I could shave it off and start again from scratch.

CountFosco · 02/04/2020 21:07

DH had a haircut 3 weeks ago so we're OK here for the time being, he does have very thick and straight hair so will look terrible in 12 weeks though, it grows straight out. DS is 7 and I'll maybe have a hack at his fringe eventually but he suits the surfer dude look. I might be the one to break first, I was due a haircut 2 weeks ago but had a cough so didn't go. My hair is very short and thick and is beginning to look a bit wild. OK to pin it back with kirby grips for a bit while at home and hopefully my hairdresser's business will survive so I can get a reshape before I return to the office.
