Birkenstock big buckle madrid

Does anybody have the big buckle version of these? I love the look of them but found the ordinary buckle version hurt the top of my feet. Wondering what the fit is like. Obviously has to be online purchase and sending stuff back is challenging. Is the strap wider in this version?

I only wear madrids around home, i don't like flip flopping when out and about and i can't run for thr bus in them. I LOVE the look if the big buckle version but i don't need new ones. Sorry i can't answer question, but they are great looking!

I have a gorgeous pair of tan leather big buckle Madrid exquisites. Have hardly worn them cos they hurt the top of my feet like hell, leave big marks if worn for any length of time. Feel quite precarious on too.

Have been toying with idea of big buckle Arizonas, as I find my Arizona’s so comfy. But they don’t come with a soft sole or in any colours I like.

@TheStarryNight oh bugger! That doesn't sound good. I ordered a pair yesterday as I had to do an emergency new kettle order from John Lewis so took the plunge. At least JL have simple returns! It's the top of my foot my old ones hurt. On the bridge ( I have no idea what bit that is actually called, What are bits of your feet called? people talk about having a high arch and I do not know what the mean). Bought because an Instagram person who makes me laugh says they are the most comfortable shoes ever. Hmm.

I have Arizona style in 3 colours plus Sydney which are all really comfortable. The super shiny patent pewter ones are the most comfortable things ever as they have soft footbed and I got those in white stuff. Will report back

I’ve got them. DH got me them as a birthday gift last year. They are super comfy.

@TheStarryNight I have the exact same in anthracite which I would call pewter! They are soooo comfy and funnily enough on a rare trip out at te sane time DH suggested I buy them.

I was exactly the same with mine. Got over my initial doubts because I loved how much they looked.

Hardly ever wear them though, as the few times I have they’ve hurt my feet.

@TheStarryNight well that's not very encouraging! I won't keep them if I can't get in with them ( though they are a thing of beauty). Here's hoping and thank god for John Lewis hermes pick up

I got the big buckle last year, they did take some wearing in but then were as comfy as all Birks!
Wear them a little around the house every day you will have them worn in in no time

@Villamaria we're they hard across the top of your foot? That's my worry? I had a pair about 16 years ago which were fab but then a few years ago a black pair bought for work never seemed to soften

Initially yes, and I got a cut across my foot as I wore them too long the first day! But after that I wore around the house instead of slippers and within a few weeks they were really comfy.
I find all Birkenstock’s need to be worn in though not just these.

Thank you @villa . I've never had to wear in other styles at all. I have 5 pairs of different 2 strap ones . Will try tomorrow in my bedroom!

I just received my Madrid big buckle from Office, they were 30% off so couldn't resist! So far so good, been wearing them around the house and feel super comfy i8.amplience.net/i/office/3123814501_md1.jpg?$newhighres$&w=600&h=525
I've had a pair of Arizona for a couple of years but every time I wear them for a longer period I always end up with blisters on top of my foot

I just ordered a pair of big buckle Madrid yesterday. Been debating getting a pair for a few weeks, and decided I'd use what I've saved so far in petrol money by wfh. I really hope they're not uncomfy.

I hope you both love them! I thought they looked fab but just dint suit my foot shape. The big buckle Arizona are great and I've almost worn them in! I had forgotten that the ,rather ones take longer than the vegan leather ones. I love them. Photo ( sorry was for my DD to see)
