What is a good long lasting foundation?

I know it’s probably been done to death (sorry) but what’s a good long lasting buildable foundation? I think I need to change my foundation as I’m not sure Estée Lauder dw agrees with me anymore.

I don’t have great skin anyway, large pores in areas, a few scars & blemishes so I need the foundation to have quite a good coverage.

Ah Thanks @Ellapaella let me know whether you think it’s long lasting. Is the foundation buildable? I have combination-oily skin with a few scars so really want to make sure I can it’s a good coverage.

Nothing lasts like DW however I go through stages where it will not sit properly on my skin so I use the DW light which works well!

C. Y. O is long lasting also mac Pro longwear.

Revlon colourstay works for me. I get the dry skin one although I don't especially have dry skin but am 40. It lasts but isn't too heavy.

Ellapaella · 01/04/2020 17:22

@Tinks15 I think it will be perfect for you. Coverage is very good and it's till perfectly intact now after several hours.

Tinks15 · 01/04/2020 19:34

Thanks @Ellapaella I’ll have to have a think. I’m just nervous taking the plunge worried if I don’t get on with it that’s £30 down the drain 😣

When I need fuller coverage I like the fenty one, nars all day luminous weightless (daft name as I don't think it's luminous at all) or my new favourite, urban decay stay naked. (i also like ysl all hours but it doesn't last quite as long)

Floraflower3 · 02/04/2020 12:34

I like NYX can't stop won't stop foundation. It's very buildable and doesn't budge. It is super matte however.

I really rate the Urban Decay Stay Naked foundation. It gives excellent coverage without being too heavy (the issue I have with Double Wear), and it lasts all day.
There is also All Nighter foundation, which I think has heavier coverage - some people might prefer that.
They both have the added bonus of being vegan, if that’s important to you.

@Squeakycheese - which light foundation do you use?

Racheyg · 02/04/2020 20:53

I use huda beauty. It's full coverage and lasts well

I've spent years and fortunes trying to find something that lasts like DW, trust me it doesn't exist. My best tip is to use DW on your t zone as it is, then mix it with a little highlighter (non shiny/glittery!) for the rest of your face. Sits better around the eyes etc.

Elllllle · 03/04/2020 10:41

Revlon colorstay lasts just as well as ELDW but they are both very ageing.

This has been my mission for the longest time ie a long lasting, non-transferring, good coverage, satin finish foundation...

Ive taken to mixing revlon with a luminous illamasqua foundation.

Oh I'm in a similar boat, running a bit low on double wear light, and wanted to try something different this time, but can't get any samples/matched! I'm trying to hold off just wearing makeup on the days I have to have video conferences to keep it going until we're out of lockdown rather than just order another double wear online.

Dogwalks2 · 03/04/2020 14:36

I used DW for years but as I’ve got older found it a bit heavy. Switched to Channel luminosity and have had loads of complements.
