Epiduo?

Anyone tried epiduo?

I’ve had acne for years and mostly controlled it with proactiv sent from Canada (benzoyl peroxide version). Typically, I’ve run out and can’t buy more because of coronavirus.

I’m going to ask the GP for epiduo on Monday as it has benzoyl peroxide in that my face I used to. Already, my face is popping out in acne badly.

Did it work for you? These ‘purging’ reviews are scaring me Shock

I use epiduo. I noticed results in the first week. I read a lot of reviews and people were saying it gets worse around week 3. It gives bad side effects such as really dry, itchy and flakey skin. It even hurt to cry. But this is normal and will go after a few weeks. I have been using epiduo for a few years and although it helped a lot it didn’t get rid of my acne completely. Still get flare ups, I think my skin got used to it. I went to the go and I got prescribed a different one called zineryt which has antibiotics in it.

Thanks!
I’ve been using it almost a week now. Slightly tight skin, but I’ve been using benzoyl peroxide for so long that my skin won’t be reacting to the bp in it, at least.

Did yours get bad on week 3? @Custardcreamies101

@Ansumpasty

No I don’t think it did get bad on week 3. I remember I saw results within the first week. Most spots had gone within the first week. I remember being worried because I realised I was going back to uni. But it didn’t get bad like others have said. You need to use pea sized amount for the whole face, but seeing as you’ve used benzoyl peroxide before you probably can use more.

I have been using it for 5 years but I haven’t seen much improvement in the last few. My face seems to get better and then flare up again. So I’m trying different ones at the moment.

I've just started using it too. The only thing that's ever helped my acne is Spironalactone, prescribed by an NHS dermatologist. After using it for 2 years I was told I couldn't have any more 😔
So I was discharged and told to use Epiduo. Must say it's ok but it burns a lot and reacts badly with my night cream and eye cream, I'm 40 so I need to use wrinkle cream too! It's been about a month now and I'm not too impressed so far!

@Custardcreamies101 that’s good to know that yours didn’t purge! I hope you find something that works for you

It worked great for me and I didn’t have any ‘purge’. I built it up gradually by applying just every other night at first and it really cleared my skin.

Ansumpasty · 05/04/2020 20:18

@Swiftier That’s good! Fingers crossed, then!
