Spf 50 sunscreen recommendations

mimimonster123 · 28/03/2020 19:37

I have started wearing a face cream with factor 15 in during the winter, mainly because it's just the one I found in Tesco
But I have started wearing the kids factor 50 stuff now we are at home and in the garden etc
But I HATE the texture and feeling it leaves!
And one day I will need to wear makeup again so I want one that's more of a primer?
I tried to get the elf one but it's sold out so any recommendations
I don't have a massive budget either so ideally £15 or under?
Is that asking too much?

I use this www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01NAX614L/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_4E6FEbFFY8GE0?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

It's really light, sinks in straight away, and it is great under make up

Biore - watery essence. I got mine the other week and have been wearing it since, it's quite light (only one I've ever worn that I've thought a moisturiser might be good to wear too) and doesn't have that hideous feeling of slapping a mixture of goose fat and pva glue on your face. I got mine for about £10 on Amazon.

Other than that I'm still a fan of Clinique City Block spf 45, that's about £22 though.

Oooh Thankyou! Will have a look at your suggestions!!

Honestly the feeling of the kids factor 50 makes my skin crawl haha

I love the Vichy 50 SPF Dry Touch. Brilliant as a primer & dries matt.

Agree with previous poster that Biore watery essence is very good ... BUT

The best factor 50 face cream is Mimitika - have bought previously at feel unique not sure where else sends it. I got a small sample in a beauty box and have been obsessed ever since.

Alpha H make an excellent SPF 50 moisturiser - very lightweight and doesn't feel like sunscreen at all.

Emma Hardie also makes an SPF30 Prep and Prime face cream, which is a moisturiser, sunscreen and primer in one. It actually works well as a primer too, so it's my go-to in winter or on work days when I don't need such a high SPF.

Look at Altruist too.
Set up by a dermatologist who wants to eradicate skin cancer worldwide, it's so cheap, non perfumed and works.

Heliocare

Nivea. The matt one, SPF50.

Perfect under makeup, can't feel it on my face, cheap, goes well with moisturiser (doesn't pill), broad spectrum protection, easily available.
