Summer footwear

Thinking about the summer. I wear dresses and shorts when it gets hot but I struggle with footwear. I'm not particularly keen on sandals but my feel got so hot last year in converse/shoes/trainers.

What can I wear? Can you please recommend something? Thanks

I really love Birkenstocks :) They are great if you struggle to find comfy sandals (I often do due to wide feet and very high arches) They are really supportive and easy to walk about it, and also seem to last forever.

I think they look really nice with pretty summer dresses and also more casual ensembles.

What is it you don't like about sandals? I too hate having hot feet and my feet are strange, very wide at the front and narrow ankles. They key for me is finding sandals with a leather footbed and an adjustable front fastening. Stylish too but the whole combo is often a tall order Confused

I dunno, think it's having my toes out although there's nothing wrong with them.

and my feet are strange, very wide at the front and narrow ankles.

I have this problem as well. It means that most slip on shoes - loafers/court shoes etc are like flip-flops on me.

TBH OP when the weather is very hot It has to be sandals or flip-flops. Anything closed is sweat inducing. And IMO comfort is the decider for me.

Quite frankly, I don't understand why people are squeamish about toes. Just paint your nails a nice colour and make sure your heels aren't dry and cracked.

I mainly wear toms and fit flops for casual
Pointy toe flats for work

I used to hate sandals too until I started wearing Menorcan sandals made my Solillas, which incidentally cover most of your toes too.
