what colour to wear under a brownish grey suit?

Hi all,

I'm aware it doesn't sound very nice 'on paper' but I have a lovely brownish charcoal suit and am not sure what to put under it.

It is an hourglass shape and quite 1940s with a couple of little bow details and a slight stripe in the fabric so preferably nothing too fussy.

I bought it ages ago in a charity shop when it was way too small but I am losing weight (down from almost a 20 to 12s starting to fit again) hence never having worn it before!

any ideas for a top to go underneath or other accessories? I thought maybe a pale pink silk blouse but it isn't the most flattering colour on me.

sorry for the terrible pic! it's a bit crumpled from storage and needs a clean but the colour shows up well here.

I was thinking pastel pink too, how about some sort of rusty colour?

Teal/ turquoise

Blush or navy

Teal, turquoise or coral would look good. Go for softer shades of these rather than bright.

Duck egg blue

thanks all! some lovely suggestions, I didn't think of the bluey colours but will have a trying on sesh with the tops I have in those shades
