I'm wanting to colour my hair which has a highlift bleach blonde colour on it. I want to buy a home kit , I need it to lighten up my roots to without using bleach. I need it to be very kind to my hair as its brittle and I don't want to use bleach. ( but still need a bleach look) Thanks

Esalon. You can upload pics and choose from a colour chart, plus chat with a stylist and they'll blend a colour for you

I'm in same boat. I have half head of highlights, I am thinking of just going all brown, might be easier to achieve.

For an easy option home dying is going to be the way forward for a while. Just scared of ruining my hair. I'm not naturally blond lol

My hairdresser has told me not to touch my hair.... at least I won't be seeing anyone 😂

I'm.front line nhs... my hair needed doing weeks ago, but I thought it could go a couple more weeks 🤣

Hairdresser here you can’t lighten hair without using bleach, and you really need to know what you are doing particularly on damaged hair. Timing for bleach has to be exact or you will ruin your hair.

Sparkling gin can I buy a box dye to do my roots and rest of hair?

MJW1968 · 24/03/2020 15:21

Yes bellalou if it’s you normal colour out it on the roots first and brush it through for the last 5 to 10 minutes it stops the ends going too dark.

SparklingGin · 24/03/2020 19:32

Sorry bellalou I see you have highlights match box colour to your roots and put it all over after a couple of washes the highlights will peep through. Anything is better than home bleach we have had clients come in with chunks of their hair broken or the cuticles so blown their hair won’t take colour. If people are doing it at home and stick to 6%/20 vol developer it’s fairly foolproof.
