I have a real hankering for a pair of dungarees, I'm a size 14/16 (more 16 than 14) and 5'3" am I going to look ridiculous?

I have THESE
They are lovely and the pockets are set into the horizontal seam so look good .

Lucy and Yak.

Maybe try a dungaree dress?

happytobemrsg · 23/03/2020 22:58

Definitely Lucy & Yak. They also have different size models on their website so you get an idea of what it’ll look like

oooh i can get mine back out once we have some better weather, i got some Primark ones, I went HUGE and got an 18 and they really are giant...dh reckons we could both get in them I am a 14-16 (16!)

I wear them with a fitted t shirt, no socks and converses....I feel weird with a jumper or boots/socks

I imagine I look like this and not like Geoffrey from Rainbow.

no, YOU shutup.

The Lucy and Yak ones have different styles - if you are ordering you could order different styles. I did and one style suited me much better than the other, but the returns was easy. The fabric is nice (but not the printed ones, sorry) and they are well made.

Short dungarees are great in summer. I have some relaxed ones and I get lots of compliments on them.

If you are ordering from them read the size guide. They're meant to be quite loose.

I don't work for them - just have lots of dungarees, short dungarees and pinafore dresses. I didn't order a mini pini from them as they looked like they only had one pocket.

Run and Fly.

Run and Fly have some brilliant ones but I've not tried them.

I have quite a few of the coudroy ones, I have found they are fairly long in the body and the leg, but due to the style and design they still look good with the legs rolled up if needed! I was 16 when I bought mine and 5'11, now I'm a 12 they still look great, and my friend who is 5'5 looks good in them too, doesn't look odd with the legs up! I love them.

I have some fatface blue denim ones. I wear them with the hems rolled up a little, t shirts underneath (long sleeve at the mo) and converse. They’re great to wear at home as a bit more substantial than leggings but still comfortable.

I’m pretty sure I look like a 5 year old or one of Dexys Midnight Runners in them, but my BFF (who doesn’t mince words or hold back) told me I looked great.

I thought I was more like one of Bananarama. Smile
