The best home hair dye

I appreciate that it's trivial compared to everything else but given we can't got to the hair dressers what's the best at home alternative?

I have long thick dark brown hair. A few but-increasing-in-number grays.

The hair dresser uses semi-permanent dye a shade or so lighter than my hair.

Esalon. You upload pics and they blend a colour for you. My mother asked for a demi permanent which they don't usually do but they adjusted their usual strength for her

I really like the wash in wash out Superdrug range - keep hair looking shiny and seem to tone out the grey for a few days.
