Been practically white sine I was 23, now early 50s. Any tips? I’m very dark so will be a dramatic change.

I think I might just go grey.

I do the same as @ElfrideSwancourt. The purple semi dye with conditioner as a purple rinse once a week gives it a lovely silver shimmer.

I stopped colouring mine a few years ago. It’s about 75% grey, bra strap length and in great condition. I have thick wavy hair and have found the no shampoo method stops it from becoming frizzy as grey hair is prone to that.

Do it! I had very dark hair which grew very quickly so roots were always a problem. Took the plunge at 50 and gave up the dye.7 years later I have a sharp style in a bright white. People often admire it and think it’s dyed. It’s so liberating not having to worry about touching up the roots etc, I wish I’d done it years ago. But it does mean I have to dress more carefully and generally look more groomed so I don’t stray into “old lady” territory

Do it! My hair is in such lovely condition now that I have stopped dying it. I became allergic to hair dyes so I was forced to stop but I don't regret it at all.
My hair pretty much waist length so I was afraid it would age me (I'm 42) but as I have a pretty even spread of grey with just a few more obvious streaks, I think I can get away with it.

It's fab Shorty!

I actually think dyed hair, especially dyed dark hair, is much more ageing than grey hair as your skin tone changes too as you age.

After dyeing my hair dark for 20 years I started going ash blonde in my late 40s, and then went an ashy purple.

After a couple of months I suspected that I was actually dyeing my hair v similar to the colour it actually was (🤦‍♀️) , but I wasn't really sure so let it grow a couple of years ago and haven't looked back.
