Home blonde - cover ashy grey

I'm mid 40s naturally mousey blonde but going ashy grey - route growth not severe can go 8 mths between dying.

I'm overdue a full head of very light blonde highlights I've - that's not going to happen now. I've never home dyed my hair. .

Should I bother - I'm not ready to embrace the ashy grey yet tbh - is there something good I can buy online?

I've been doing a Google of old threads (I'm truly clueless on this front) and the John Fredia colours have come up a few times.i would like to kind of get a highlight effect rather than a block of colour - is this doable at home?

Watching with interest! I was already long overdue a colour. Also have mousey brown hair going grey. I suspect youtube for instructions on how to do it well will be useful but it's advice on the best brand I need and how not to end up with a block colour

In the past I have bought the Wella highlighting kit, you can buy it from Supermarkets!
It has a cap or you can just use the brush and paint strands of hair, sort of like bayalage.
There are videos on YouTube and some have had really good results!

Good luck! 😁

Oh I think I could do that - and trust my DH to do the back Grin. I'll maybe look at highlighting kits rather and colour.

The highlights effect is really hard to get right-im trained and still wouldnt attempt it on myself! I'd probs pick an light ashy blonde colour-try a flat level 8 or 8.1 and do that if my roots were really bothering me but probably would just wait.
