Which colours work with petrol blue?

Hello all.

I've just bought a lovely pair of petrol blue trousers in the sales. Its not a colour I've worn before and I'm not quite sure which colours would work well with it. I'd prefer lighter shades, what with Springtime arriving soon. Any ideas, please?

I'd wear grey - love this combo!

Mustard/ochre

Was about to say mustard yellow too.

Look at a kingfisher. Any of its colours.

aubergine, mustard, very dark blue. Not together.

Copper colour.

Cream

I would wear a pale peachy pink or an light apricot or a milky sage green

This might help you if you want to keep it tonal. Pinks can work well especially bright pinks.

Thanks so much to everyone for your replies! I really appreciate your help. Lots of great ideas for me to get started and I have tops in a few of these colours already that I wouldn't have thought of.

So many colours go with petrol blue! I like layering blues and greens but agree with all the suggestions above

We've just painted our bathroom a petrol blue and it's accessorised with ochre/mustard and terracotta. It really works.

Hot pink

Brown

Rust, orange, ochre, greens - so many.

Bright pink. Chocolate. Orange.
