Aussie conditioner, changed recipe?

I've always got the Aussie 3 minute miracle - Reconstructer as I have bleached hair and it's always worked for me. It was a thick stodgy consistency, very beige and opaque. Gave a satisfying belch when squeezed out.

However, the last bottle I had was a thin, white, see through consistency. Doesn't belch, kind of just wheezes out. And of course the main thing, my hair is no longer feeling lush and soft.

Anyone concur? Anyone know the deal? Can anyone suggest a new one?

I noticed they're plugging a new intensive conditioner which I can't remember the name of and I wondered if it was what I want but just repackaged.

Yes I thought the same and I think there was a thread about it and others agreed! It’s shit now!!

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 19/03/2020 13:17

I didn't know they'd changed the formula, but it makes sense of the crap state of my hair! I'm having problems with hair loss and dryness due to an unholy combination of medication and menopause, and I treated myself to some Aussie stuff because it has been really good in the past. Now it seems to be no better than Tresemme, which is also crap.

Can anyone recommend a credible substitute?

ReginaGeorgeous · 19/03/2020 13:59

I used to use Aussie and thought it was alright, but hadn’t for the last couple of years. Anyway, I bought some Mega shampoo and conditioner minis to take away with me last weekend and my god it’s awful. It made my hair like straw.

LambChopsMcGee · 20/03/2020 16:53

Oh no! I just ordered some!

CadburysTastesVileNow · 20/03/2020 17:23

I thought this yesterday when i used my new bottle!

thisenglishlife · 20/03/2020 17:56

I like the banana hair mask by The Body Shop.

DysonFury · 20/03/2020 21:48

L'orael Hair Food, the one with a brown lid, is excellent and always half priced somewhere, currently at Boots.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/03/2020 21:57

I use Phyto instead. I use this one every second wash and this one occasionally.

ooooere · 20/03/2020 22:08

I'm not keen on it at all.

Office365 · 22/03/2020 13:54

I'm glad to hear it's pissing off others and not just me! Definitely going to have to find something else soon, I'm about halfway through the bottle but I'm also on day 5 of 14 in isolation so only kids and DH to see my frizzy barnet at the moment 😂

I was thinking this too. Grabbed a shampoo and conditioner recently as it used to make my hair feel amazing (hair is thick but strands are fine and flyaway so I can easily end up a frizzy mess).

When I used them I thought I'd got the bottles mixed up as the conditioner was runny and see-through and the shampoo was the thicker looking one. My hair definitely doesn't feel as good as it used to either.

RacheyCat · 26/03/2020 02:04

Yes! I live in China and buy this, and it's a yellowy cream. Came back to the UK earlier this month and got some of the 3 minute reconstructer there, and it was white and thinner!

Lndnmummy · 27/03/2020 12:14

Oh so this is why my hair is dreadful now. I couldn’t work it out.

monkeytennis97 · 27/03/2020 12:23

Totally agree. Think they have just put more water in it

MrsMGE · 27/03/2020 13:21

I think they changed it, it's making my scalp dry too.

rainingoutsideagain · 27/03/2020 13:36

I've started using the garnier ultimate blends banana shampoo, conditioner and the masque. Honestly the masque is a hair changer it's so rich and people have been commenting about the quality of my normal fly away hair. I cannot recommend it enough having been an Aussie fan for about 6 years - I had to change and this is a firm favourite in my bathroom and gym bag! Give it a go!

rainingoutsideagain · 27/03/2020 13:37

Here is the banana masque I cannot live without now in replacement for the Aussie Range

Oooh thanks for the recommendation, I wanted to try these masks but didn't know if they're any good. Definitely buying one after the lockdown, such a treat 😊

PurpleBlueAnemone · 27/03/2020 13:49

I found this too! So disappointing when you've spent ££s on it.

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 27/03/2020 17:19

Bleach London Reincarnation Mask is what you need! Amazing stuff

FaithInfinity · 27/03/2020 18:21

Yes me too! I’m highly sensitive (eczema) it was one product I’ve used a lot other the years. Then I got a new bottle and it’s totally different. Made me come out in a rash!

MoreHairyThanScary · 27/03/2020 18:28

They changed the receipe whee they repackaged a few months ago. I emailed them at the time to say it's rubbish.....why do companies do this change a lovely product to something shit.( I know , it know.....the answer is profit and greed).

Still looking for something to replace the mega ( I can't stand bananas or coconut so anything like that is out!
