Vit C and spots

Did anyone else get spots when they started using Vit C? I only ever get the very occasional spot but have had quite a few all around my nose since starting Vit C.
I've also started wearing spf religiously so wonder if it could be that? Maybe not getting all the spf off when I cleanse? Any ideas?

Yes, I started using it around two weeks ago and have noticed some really stubborn under the skin spots around my chin and nose. It’s really frustrating because the rest of my skin is brighter and looking better but these spots don’t want to go.
It’s not just you and I’m wondering if it’s increased sun screen use as well but I’ve always used it and never had this problem before. Hopefully somebody will come along and tell us how to fix our skin!

Yes me! I was using the skinceuticals ce ferulic acid which has a vit c content of 15%, I was getting a few breakouts as my skin is a bit oily anyway. I saw a doctor for a chemical peel and she said that the vit c content was to high for my skin, so I use one that has 10% vit c in. Much better now.

On the spf front, most of them break me out, and I’ve tried them all pretty much, so if I’m going out I use either Clinique city block spf40 or origins ginseng spf40.

Am confused! Just been reading about purging so it could be that??

It does break me out, but I can be spot prone. However, it is amazing for brightening.

My money would be on the spf breaking you out. I've not had issues with vit C but all sunscreens cause me problems

Ah I did wonder. It's just specifically around my nose where if I ever do get a spot it there. Will maybe try a different cleanser

Regarding people mentioning sunscreen, La Roche Posay has an Efflacur Duo, which is designed to deal with breakouts, with sunscreen in. The normal version doesn't, so you have to check which one you're buying. I think it's SPF 30.

Happens to me if I put too much on. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

Ultrasun do a mineral block, spf 50. Excellent for oily skin.

My spots have stopped appearing. I'm not sure how I got to my 40s and didn't realise that my sunscreen is waterproof 🙄! Turns out I wasn't taking it off properly. Finally the penny dropped and I've been double cleansing. Spots gone 😀
