Reading these threads and realised no one mentions face scrubs anymore! Am I the only one still using one? Do I not need one?? Dry skin. Thanks!

@withlotsoflove what gentle acids do you recommend to start with for example to use as part of an evening routine?

I normally use Simple cream cleanser & toner, Clinique smart repair serum & Boots No7 protect & perfect spf15 day cream or night cream.

I wash my face with Clinique 7 day scrub twice a week.

To start with @Terralee l would try the Ordinary lactic acid 5% ~ it’s really gentle and actually moisturising! Brilliant before other products too! Smile

popsydoodle4444 · 17/03/2020 18:46

Try one of the bodyshops facial peels

Terralee · 17/03/2020 18:47

Thanks. Is it like a cleanser?

Terralee · 17/03/2020 18:47

The lactic acid I mean

withlotsoflove · 17/03/2020 18:55

@Terralee it’s like a thick- ish liquid!
Just use a tiny bit to start and then increase. It’s the type of product that you’ll need to see if it suits your skin... Smile

Indeed Labs Exfolliant Powder - it foams a bit , feels slightly gritty but not too much .

I'v had a bottle for ages - maybe use once a week or so.

Konjac Sponge for day-to-day . Either on its own or a cleanser . They dry out so no musty smells or bacterial growth

I use the Origins Ginseng one. Smells gorgeous, great on my skin.

I recommend: any wash off cleanser that you like, used with a launder-able facecloth of the texture that suits you. I like waffle textured microfibre cloths like this www.amazon.co.uk/Polyte-Premium-Microfiber-Kitchen-Cloth/dp/B07FJKFBNL/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=microfibre+face+cloths+waffle&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1584543465&sr=8-9
They wash well, dry well and last ages. The fibres don't feel harsh but make my skin feel fresh and clean.

Dermalogica daily microfoliant. The best.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 18/03/2020 22:47

Dermalogica gentle cream exfoliant is excellent

Gwenhwyfar · 24/03/2020 21:18

I know you're not supposed to be, but nothing else gives me smooth skin. I use an old tub I've had for more than 10 years.

BunnytheBee · 24/03/2020 21:25

Yes I do but I have been using a make up eraser for a bit and found that gently exfoliated my face. I haven’t been wearing make up the past couple weeks of weeks as were at home but noticed the past couple of days my skin reality felt like it needed to be exfoliated so I used the sanctuary warming one and I like it. It’s gentle but it works.

Konjac sponge with Neal's Yard Rose Face wash

I was given the liz Earle one for Christmas, I like it in the shower in the morning.
